Mazzer of choice: Kony, SJ, Luigi, ?,?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Hi, Would love to know the differences between all the mazzers for those that have used them.
At work we have a Kony, given to us by our supplier to use (no contract) so I imagine it must be the cheaper option of them all.
But went to another cafe and the owner was freakin out over how good his new Luigi was...as it was producing sweet shots
    Are the Konys old dinosaurs?

Nope...konys produce great quality grinds. Conical...just slow. There is no model called "luigi". The only models Mazzer produce are:

    Flat burr:
    mini
    super jolly
    major

    Conical burr:
    kony
    robur

"luigi" is just part of the mazzer trading name on the compliance sticker. Its Mazzer Luigi srl

cool...had no idea it was conical. least were being looked after.
also as the blades wear down how does this effect taste....do the blunt blades create more heat? need more work to grind?

correct. Burrs should be changed based on the volume you do. If your coffee company has a preventative maintenance program, they will know after X months to change your burrs based on Y kg/week you do.
