How will spare parts and servicing/warranty compare with the Mazzer and Macap?
And of course the big question - is this better than the Mini-Mazzer or M4?

Hey David- no probs with spares or service. I suspect *:-? it uses a Mazzer burr set...Ill confirm that tomorrow...

Youd be comparing this with a SJ, not a M4/mini...

Not that I need a third grinder ::) but OOI are they standard or spring-loaded burr carriers? If the former, does the adjustment have much slack like the Compak or rigid like the Mazzer?

Nothing wrong with Taiwanese manufacturing mate.... Theyre the world leaders in all sorts of manufacturing areas so I dont see why they wouldnt do a good job with a commercial grinder. Excellent value in my opinion.... 8-)

    Hi Dennis and Brett,

I think there were some incorrectly interpreted double negatives there ;)

I have removed off topic remarks...

I just dont think Dennis had his morning coffee.... or two..... before posting ;)

Mals post is full of praise..... and I cant see any others even mildly deserving of the comments.

    Mistake..... BIG mistake!!!

    Re: G3 grinder discussion

Ive had my morning and afternoon coffees now, yet still feel the same way. Though as most of the content of my post was about stereotyping rather than this grinder, can appreciate why it was deleted. Id probably rather the post I was responding to was also deleted.

Anyway, as mentioned earlier, one thing I am sure of, is that Chris wont sell rubbish. If he says its good, then thats good enough for me.

I have paid for my grinder and have spoken to Chris and now I must wait.By the way if anyone has any misconceptions about these grinders they come with 12 months domestic warranty. Also Chris is making very little from the sale of these grinders.

Did I miss something here? I cant find any other discussion on these. When did they come in? Are they still around? A price even? Not listed anywhere in the TC thread or website.

They look similar to the Mazzer

It was listed in the TC sponser thread. I assume its gone because the offer is now closed. I think pre-orders finished on 18 Sept, so there would be no reason to continue to list it there. Grinder is new and hasnt been offered before, but Im sure that well get more info/reviews once people begin receiving their orders. Im not sure if this was a once-off or if Talk Coffee are planning on carrying them in future.

those days are already here in some ways or should i say in some factories :)

i have a mate in San Francisco that is an instrument designer, the mob he works for has their own factory in China, IF you have control over the workforce and set in practice exactly how you want things done, then thats what you will get BUT if you leave it up to them to copy you something then thats when the corners can start being cut if your not watching
when i was there a few years back he started the ball rolling on re-issued Recording King banjos and these have since become the best bang for buck banjo on the market

The Grinder cost me $550 plus postage $20 but the offer was for a bulk buy, only I snapped one up. But if you really want one and you ring or PM Chris at Talk Coffee he may be able to help you out, but I would only be guessing.
The discount Chris offered in this sale was huge and he may not offer that again.

    Hi all,

The level of interest in this one was....martybean. ECA offered a bulk buy discount which I passed on to CSers- assuming a few would sell with a tiny profit (ho hum- some you win- some not)..but no go so I wont be offering them again.

Let us know what you think of this not so little powerhouse marty...

Got my grinder today. This looks just like the mazzer they have at the charcoal chicken shop I go to. It works great and is built like a Tank. But is it big! It is huge. Probably overkill for my needs.I will have a longer play tomorrow when I have more time, but the grinder is much more quieter than the sunbeam 0480 and no static, even though my sunbeam has been modified it still produces static.
Thanks Chris for supplying such a good value machine.I will get some pics tomorrow.

    Thrilled to hear that Marty!

You can retrofit a super short (or standard) mini hopper to your grinder if you wish...

    Enjoy!
