    Quick Mazzer Q

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hey,

So as per my last post, I bought this 2nd hand mazzer from my local cafe..

on the side it says MazzerLuigi Super Jolly...

It was in dire need of a clean so I started to take it all apart to clean it and I noticed that it has 2 wires going into the doser from the body... (One into a little plastic thing that sites above the opening where the ground coffee comes out, and one that goes intot the bottom section of the doser..)

Is this a manual SJ? or an auto? The switch just has Off, On, then you click it one further for it to start...

    Cheers
    Ed

Its a auto. The switches can be removed, the "wires" are actually sheathes shielding two wires each. The bottom switch and wires can just be removed, the upper switch is "normally closed" if removed you need to bridge the terminals with a short length of insulated electrical wire to close the circuit. removing the flapper switch improves access to chute.

    Great thanks for that..

So i guess when i rip it all apart to refurbish, i may just leave the auto part out....I dont think Id ever use it...Does it just stop grind when the doser is full or something?

    Thanks

As I understand it after about 10 pulls of the doser the grinder automatically starts and stops when grinds push the flap up and open the circuit. The motor is controlled by a contactor which is triggered by the doser switches or by turning the knob to the start position. With the flap out of the way you are free to brush the grinds out of the chute.
