    Grinder settings vs roast

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Ive noticed that my grinder settings are two or three notches lower for my home roasts vs roasted coffee - The roasted coffee is from either CS or other quality roasters. Grinding time after orast is comparable. Being new to roiasting, does this imply my roasts are "overdone"?? Or is it nothing??

    Re: Grinder settings vs roast

I find my grinder settings change from roast to roast anyway depending on the bean i am roasting and the age of the beans from the roast date.
It is not uncommon to adjust the grinder every day.
I am not sure how much a notch changes for your specific grinder but i wouldnt be too alarmed about it.

How does the coffee taste that you roast?
If you have a CS card, what roast level do you roast to?

    Behmor Coffee Roaster
Thanks Mal - I understand grind settings vary roast to roast, but Im finding that home roasted are all finer than freshly roasted that I purchase - With gen, Im still learning to hear cracks, particularly 2nd, so i suspect Im somewhat over roasting - Taste is OK, but no world beaters yet
