    Heat gun dying: replaced

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I had to replace my dying Ozito heat gun after about 8 months of roasting.

Im having to re-learn my roasts all over again as I cant find sweet spot equivalents in this new baseline model of the el-cheapo gun. Id just started keeping really detailed roast notes for the last few months too! :(

Im happy to have the scalable variability in heat on this one (60-600*C vs the 300/500*C previous). Itll give me more to experiment with.

Ive had my ozito for 18 months (~75kg of beans or 150 x 500g batches). I think its starting to show signs of death. The nozzle is melting and morphing and I think the output is slightly diminished.

What did you go for as a replacement?

Go for a Variable temp Bosch with display a PHG630 DCE from memory.
About $100 or $120 from memory, i have two, the first one has been in use for over 2 years and was only changed when i was trying to establish what my roast consistency problem was (was the BM rotation speed) so i think the original HG would be good for at least another year or so.
