    Interesting Tapachula El Tacana

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Roasted this bean for the first time 4 weeks ago, pulling at start of SC. Very quickly developed a real liking to this one, some real nice chocolatey taste to it, not overpowering, just very easy to drink, very moorish. Did another roast a week ago, this one was a tad different. Different as in......

Heres a free tip. When using your HT, PLEASE remember to screw the end plate back on the drum BEFORE you turn it on, set your timer, pour in your green beans etc etc. Still dont know how I missed it, Ive had some heavy sh*t on my plate the last couple months so have been quite distracted....but I still cant work out how I didnt see the thing wasnt on ::) Anyways, TCALSS, very quick hands to get plate back on, gather up spilt beans (had sense to quickly place bowl under end of drum) then try and reset HT to roast.

After much consternation, finally got beans roasted, were just at start of FC by the time the timer had expired, so kept them anyways. It was a long slow ride to bring it back up to temp, I wasnt recording anything as there seemed little point at this stage.

Findings....a very forgiving bean, at 4 days post roast still the chocolate taste, but much lighter than first time around, a bit more subtle with a hint of vanilla to it. I didnt really know what to expect given the roller coaster roaster ride but it still turned out ok. 8-)

Yep, all of the above. It was only that I forgot to chuck the end plate on that stuffed me. 8-)
