Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
This is going to sound like a silly question, but I recently bought a Hottop roaster (which has been great), and I want to buy some spare filters. Problem is Ive forgotten where my wife bought the machine from and I need them urgently (ie. cant wait for them from overseas). Any idea where I can simply walk into to buy some - preferably eastern suburbs of Melbourne....?
    Thanks

How often do you need to change the filter?

    Re: Hottop

<=== Greg Pullman (A Sponsor who supplies HotTops) sells them. I change mine every 30-40 roasts, and switch the filter inside the holder at the half way mark. (It tends to prolong its usage)

As matter of interest as an emergency you could try washing the filter in the meantime. Some people soak it using a Coffee cleaner like caffetto and then clean it in the dishwasher. I have cleaned some in that way & keep them for emergencies, although not had to use them in anger yet.

    Behmor Coffee Roaster
    Thanks for your help guys.
According to the manual, the filter should be changed every 30 or so roasts. I have found that 40-50 is fine.
I have tried to clean the filter and it doesnt come up too badly, but for the small dollars involved, Id prefer to just buy new ones. I also found that the same bean roasted with a newish filter roasts slightly differently to the beans roasted with an ageing one. Not a lot in it as far as I can see, but I try to get consistency and keeping the filter fresh seems to help with this.
Thanks for the DiBella lead - contacted them and they have plenty so have just stocked up.
