Hallelujah - Ive seen the light! *1st roast

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Got my coffee club beans today and tried out my roasting rig.
Thanks to the encouragement of those who responded to my first post, I approached the task with confifence and I have to say that after tasting some of the first beans - obviously Im not going to wait until tomorrow - *I am absolutely astonished at the quality of the taste. *And as a single origin, the Colombian is great.

For the record, Im not graduating from dripolater or Nescafe - I havent been drinking dishwater in the past, and hoped only to match the pre-roasted beans I prefer - Im amazed. *Youve got me for life. A whole new world of no sleep. My rig works perfectly - totally even roast and very easy to use,
Ive attached a photo of my very efficient been cooler for your amusement. *It works a treat. ;-) Thanks so much to those of you who replied and shared your ideas and experiences and encouraged me to try something which I know will be an important part of my life now.

Good to see it all went so encouragingly well, El Epressio. Its too bad were forced to resort to home roasts for freshness. Speaks volumes about the sad state of affairs of the most traded commodity in the world. Thats the down side....good thing theres an upside. And that is: youve unravelled the mystery of turning an unpalatable green bean into a nectar! Well done. And its fun, too. 8)

Glad your first roast was a winner.

Your bean cooler looks great... ahhh... click... the heatgun stand in your other post... was the fan stand! Nice work.

Something else we share, the annoyed wives (including husbands or same sex) club, when "stuff" disappears from the usual resting place (pots, pans, fans, sudden interest in airthight light proof containers, the need for storage place in the linen closet...) ;D

Maybe they should form a support group to help ease a significant other through the pain when a coffee buyer turns roaster!! ;)

    Better?
