After being inspired buy come other postings of peoples homemade bean coolers I decided to try my hand at it.
The cooler I made below is to complement my Gene Cafe so it will only be handling batches of 250-300g at a time.
Parts really consist of a large baking sieve and a 220V axial cross fan from jaycar that will do just over 50CFM and is whisper quiet.
The rest was just some plywood that i machined using my other hobby which is woodworking.
First picture is from above with the sieve removed showing the fan and the wooden channel that forms the exhaust chute. Second one shows the cooler itself as it would be used.
First test was this evening and within 4 minutes the beans were at room temp - it think by distributing the beans up the sides of the sieve or possibly using a cylindrical sieve as opposed to a spherical one I could get that time down further.
very nice , 8-) , a real good idea!
Ive finally started building my Corretto & Bean Cooler - cruising the isles in Bunnings looking for parts when I saw three furniture legs on massive clearance - I knew what had to be done :D ...
Thats not a bean cooler... thats ART :D
