    Anyone using a 110V Hottop with a transformer for 240V?

    Investigated and chose not to bother...

    Was looking at a step up / Variac and the;

    1: Current is an issue...

    2: Frequency has an impact with heating elements..

    Thus unless you get a very expensive UPS that manages 240V 50Hz and produces 110v and 60 hz... then profiles etc may not be the same..

    While a lump of wire may be the same... coils, solenoids, inductors, heating and other active components are affected by not just voltage but also frequency...
