    Behmor 1600 DC Fan not working?

    Hi fellow coffee roasters.

    For those who are currently using the Behmor 1600 could you advise me whether your DC fan is on at all times as I've encountered the error 5 today which suggests that the issue is related to a malfunctioning of the DC fan.

    I've opened the side panel to see whether there was any build of dust or chaff but it was clean as a whistle. I did find that the fan was not spinning which I suspect then the fan is not working.

    Is there anyone who can check for confirm for me that their DC fan is operating at all time or not or is it simply switched on when there is excessive heat?

    You'll need to get in touch with Behmor. They're great to deal with but you may need to register your Behmor on their website first if you haven't already.

    Absolutely second the comment re: fast support through the Behmor website. The emails they send for any fixes are comprehensive and include color photos. Any queries along the way and they do get back to you same day as far as I can tell. They really back-up their product and put to shame most tech support I have dealt with in the past.

    I've contacted Behmor and are awaiting for a response from them, I hope they're helpful as you guys have suggested.

    I've just had the same error today myself (damn thing is only 4 months old). Sure enough, the component cooling fan is not spinning. How did you go fixing it?

    Just took the side of the machine off. There is only a 2.4V output on the fan header during a cooling cycle, which seems a little low for a 12V fan. Haven't heard from Behmor yet.

    Behmor Coffee Roaster
    Behmor diagnosed my faulty circuit board from my description of the problem and mailed me a new circuit board from Nevada under warranty. It was (relatively) easy to take out the old board and fit the new one. It is now working again - neither of the two dc fans were faulty. I was very impressed by Behmor's prompt attention, accurate diagnosis, and speedy solution. Full marks to Behmor, they are definitely keen to keep their punters happy.
