    Brazil Yellow Bourbon roasting tips?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I've roasted a few kg of these beans in the past with good success, but with the recent crop I'm struggling. I've tried about 5 roasts and have not really liked any of them.

Does anyone have any tips for roasting the current crop?

Hi Chris, thanks for your interest...

If you are Chris at Talk Coffee, I've bought some gear from you in the past including the baby Z roaster :-)
I'm not great at describing flavours, but the new crop seems to always taste burnt, even on progressively lighter roasts. The beans seem much less consistent than the previous crop. In fact I still had some of the previous crop left over, so I roasted them yesterday just to confirm I wasn't gong crazy! And yes the result was good.
I've attached an image of the old crop I roasted yesterday and of the current crop I roasted light a couple of days ago.

    Cheers,
    Jonathan
