    Demystifying Numbers, Colours and Names

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I have created an excel spreadsheet attempting to correlate all of the different numbers (Agtron, CoffeeSnobs), Roast Bean colours, Ground roasted bean colours and common names of roasts.
Any comment appreciated, Any additions to colums for other roasting types such as gene cafe, corretto etc from saved data that members may have.

I suspect that the colours wont look too good on this background so Ill post the spreadsheet shortly as well.

The colors in the spreadsheet will look different on different monitor types etc. These have been created on a calibrated monitor.

    This a work in progress!!

    Hi

This would certainly be useful in helping me make sense of the many systems. I see it has the CS scale and the relationships to the other systems as far as one can make such comparisions. This even more than what I was after when I made my post about the CS scale. Am looking forward to the spreadsheet. It would be useful to be able to print it out in landscape mode.

    Thanks

Re: Demystifying Numbers, Colours and Names

    Hi all

Talking about spreadsheets ... while Im still developing a web based coffee roasting application (which will take many more months) in the meantime I have a Google Spreadsheet up for playing with.
    http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pHAhOtHU8sRWonDxvOsr8MQ&gid=0

Its really just to see what Google Docs can and cant do. Like I cant get my charts in the sheets to go from 200 to 260 C instead of from zero and likewise with the time, Id like 10 mins to 30 mins range.

Otherwise what do you think? Would this be useful? Perhaps only put on the successes and none of the failures and publish it for newbies staring to roast as starting points. We could have a coffeesnobs login so many of us could update it and add to it.

Right click on the labels or numbers of each axis and then select "Format Axis".
Then select the "Scale" tab and change to the range you want.

    Hi Thundergod

Right clicking the axis gives me a Edit Chart, Delete Chart and Save Image only - the same as right clicking on any area of the chart. Selecting Edit chart gives me no options for the axis range. Its pretty limited compared to Open Office charting or Excel.

    Behmor Coffee Roaster
    Too bad.
I supposed youve disvovered some of what Google Docs cant do.

Why not just host an excel spreadsheet online somewhere else?

Check out this one of mine to see what I mean.
    http://aocdatabase.tripod.com/AoC.xls

Its ineractive (as far as I allow it to be).
Try some different tabs and input some numbers.
