home roasting temperature control
I'm looking for some kind of device to let me manage to control my roasting temperature, I was checking for an IR temperature but to be honest I have no idea which one to buy, like brand or something that is reliable enough.
I use the nuvo eco ceramic handy coffee bean roaster, I know it's not much, but I wanted to start my roasting journey through this little guy.
So any suggestions of what I should use, or even a specific product would really help me out, thanks in advance.
I've used an infrared thermometer with the Nuvo Eco roaster. Any of the IR thermometers available should work ok and can be used for all sorts of other tasks. Just make sure that the red dot measures the bean mass and doesn't measure the roaster base through a gap in the beans. However, I would suggest that you only use the thermometer as additional feedback but let the best features of the Nuvo Eco to guide your roasting i.e. the very clear queues available from sight, sound and smell.
