Bag them! even if still a bit warm.![]()
Hi people
After i have completed a roast in the Behmor+ and its dones its cool cycle, how long should i leave the beans out say in a mesh basket before i pack them in 2way valve bags to degas for a few days. Or can i just pack them straight away if beans feel cool to touch.
Also is 2way valve bags the best thing to store fresh roasted beans in?
Thanks Michael

Hi
As Yelta said, warm is OK. But not hot. When they are out of the roaster let them cool for a while in the mesh then pour them all into a flat white tray where you can more clearly check for stones. By that time being laid out they will cool to even room temperature quickly then you can bag em.

Yep bag em when they're still warm. But get them cool enough to touch first. I used to leave them out for a bit before bagging for some reason but there's no need.
I've picked roasted beans up from Andy and the bag had been warm still, so all good to do.
Also yes sealed 1-way valve bags are the way to go.Haha for a second there I was confused and thought you meant put them on the tray you use to serve specifically flat whites, like a serving tray. And I thought... how lovely and hospitable!
