    What is CS

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
OK, I've been reading lots of threads here trying to get a grasp of things before I delve into actually burning some beans. I see lots of references to CSx (where x is a number usually 7-10) I'm guessing it's something to do with roast temp, time, or colour maybe ?

You can still make your own card if you wish by printing out the JPG image downloadable from http://coffeesnobs.com.au/beanbay-ba...ber-cards.html

The scale actually goes from 1 to 12 where 1 is green (raw) and 12 is black (chuck them in the bin).

Its rather arbitrary anyway now the cards are no longer available. We are viewing the image on different screens and/or printers that may render colours differently.

True, although it does give those new to roasting a good idea of what to aim for.

Thanks for that, I think I can gauge the colour without the card myself, I’ve got a good idea what I’m doing.
