Lots of talk about poppers and pans, I think its time to give heat guns another plug! *Cant beat them for control and batch size I *reckon. I really became an advocate when I dumped the dog bowls and colanders and went to the big pasta pot with inbuilt deep strainer. This not only allows big batches, typically do 800 grammes but also lets you stir more vigorously without worrying about losing beans over the sided "bean overboard!"

Only problem is longer time (but you get a bigger batch), more operator involvement and more variables. As the pics show some *beans do vary a bit in shade but I dont see this as a a problem as it adds complexity to the cup
