    ALDI HEAT GUN

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Aldi is selling heatguns this week from Thursday 15th September.

    From their web site:

    Hot Air Gun 2000W

    Powerful 2000W motor

    2 heat settings

Includes 4 nozzles and 1 paint scaper

Packed in a handy carrying case

No mention of warranty, but Id assume 12 months which may make it worth a try if you think the XU-1s 3 months is a bit stingy.

Ill check it out tomorrow during my REAL purpose for visiting the Aldi store: a 160 gb hard drive DVD recorder for $449 with inbuilt TV tuner. Thats about half the going rate for other brands. But thats a topic for a different internet forum!

I spotted that too when looking at the heat gun... multi format (ie: + and -) and damn good value.

No wonder stores sold out as soon s the doors opened. Customers with an eye for a bargain had queued since 7 AM .
Maybe next time ( twice the storage for the same cost, hopefully, or, inbuilt high-definition digital tuner)

Er...great to watch a recorded film on while having an espresso (This brings the subject back to topic).

    Hi All,

My Aldi HG turned up today. It sure represents great value for $20 and works a treat [smiley=thumbsup.gif]. Couple all that with a 2 Year Warranty and you cant beat it. Now all I have to do is start building my new roaster... Im sure weve got an old s/s 20 Litre soup cauldron somewhere, now where did I see it....

No dude - the 20 litre stainless steet pot was $12, not the heatgun!

I reacon drilling holes in the bottom of the pot and attaching a windscreen wiper engine to it voids any warrenty anyhow.

"This pot leaks now!" probably wont wash hey?! ;)

    Behmor Coffee Roaster
    Hi Andy,

Sorry about that, thought you were talking about the HG. Ill have to spend some time prowling around our local op-shops and 2nd Hand stores, you never know... might pick up an equivalent bargain ;).

    Cheers,
    Mal.
