    November Poll Update....

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight

The November polls have closed, invoices sent, (most) people paid very promptly and the coffee has been ordered.

The coffee is currently in transit and should arrive here tomorrow afternoon.

It will then get bagged, packed and freighted-out (with any luck before the weekend)

    ...the whole half a tonne!

    Re: November Poll Update....

Without a doubt... yes. Today (according to my 4yo son) it was "a big red truck" delivering a whole pallet using a mini forklift and not just a "few bags rolled off the back of a tray truck". :o

but the polls have been getting bigger each month anyway and membership and traffic to the site has grown at about 10% per month all year.

I wish my super grew at those rates ;D

    ----

I have just finished bagging for the night, will finish off the last 100 odd kilo tomorrow night and should have most of the freighting ready for a Friday and Monday courier pickup.

.... we are on track! ;)

    Phew...
Just finished packing all the fastway satchels... they will freight-out soon after the sun comes up :)

The austpost and the Melbourne courier deliveries will happen on Monday morning and the people attending the Bean Alliance roaster tour will get theirs hand delivered.

so.... most people will get their coffee during next week.

With any luck the starter packs will be available on Monday after the last of the poll coffee freights.

No idea if this is the right place to do this, but could I put my name down for a starter pack?

    Hi Judy,
    the starter pack thread is:
    http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1113484527

and that post will say something like...

Please email the below details to: beanbay@CoffeeSnobs.com.au and we will send you an invoice for payment.

    CoffeeSnobs Name:
    Real Name:
    Preferred name on the receipt:
    Delivery Address:
    Phone (MB or BH):

Note: the postal address should be somewhere that is attended during the day to avoid the delivery getting "carded" and you having to pick it up at a local post office or depot. Work, pub, local milkbar, grandmas house all make sense.

    :)

    Howdy Andy....

Just wondering if I should be worried that my beans havent showed up in Perth yet ?

Had a nasty case of things going missing at the airport recently, and now i get paranoid when things dont arrive 5 minutes after ive ordered them :)

Any word for the west ?

    Cheers,
    Matt

Mattewo, im in Perth, mine still havent arived. The orders with Fastaways tend to take a bit longer than the 3kg Aussie Post packs. Thanks again Andy for all your hard work here.

    Cheers

    Glad they arrived ok matthewo.

No worries BigAl, I would guess that yours will arrive today if Matthewos came yesterday.

Fastway freight all the satchels across the country in one big lot and distribute them out from the capitals. They do seem a little slow to WA but at less than half the price of Australia Post Parcels (for 5kg) and a quarter of the price of Australian Air Express they are exceptional value.

Amazingly... my stash turned up on Saturday morning (at home).
Thats the quickest ever.. I might have to stop refering to them as SlowWays.
(The best is still something like 16 days)

I finally found a Minstral popper, now to find time to organise myself on the balcony :-) BTW, I was trying to order an Imax machine, partly because I couldnt find a popper and partly because I thought it would be a bit less messy, emailed Vitali three times, doesnt seem to want my money :-( (He replied, asking me where I am, I replied - nothing. I wrote to him again, he wrote be apologising for not replying, but still didnt actually take my order.

    Hi Judy,

I just yesterday ordered an Imex from Vitali over the phone. It took 2 minutes, should be picked up by courier tomorrow and arrive at my door early next week. Perhaps theyre better over the phone than email.

    Re: November Poll Update....

    Hi Judy,

I bought mine from Vitali as well. Emailed him, got a response the next day, and then rang him up to make
the payment and order detailed etc... it arrived a couple of days later.

Id say calling is the best way to go, he didnt sound overly computer literate.

Also, not sure if this is relavent or not, but when i was talking to him, i was asking a whole bunch
of questions about warranty, and the specifics of the machine, but he really didnt know anything.
He basically said that he has bought the business from someone else, and has a bunch of the IMEX machines
that he has no interest in, and wants to get rid of... So hence the cheap price, and perhaps why theres
a percieved lack of interest in the sale.

Hope that helps (and isnt misconstrued as defamation).

    Cheers,
    Matt

I may have now cut off my nose to spite my face *:( *I emailed him two days ago that if I dont receive a reply again, I will presume he doesnt want to sell me a machine. *I didnt get a reply! *:( *I then looked on the website, it says sold out, so I presumed that he didnt reply, because he didnt have any to sell me. *Now you tell me he still has some *:( *Id feel a bit stupid phoning him now *:-[

    Judy,

I think probably the stock details on the website are out of date or not yet organised: I was looking at the words "Out of Stock" on the screen while I was speaking to the Vitali man ordering the machine.

Please dont feel silly about it. Its just a misunderstanding. Ultimately they have something to sell, something that you want to buy. Im sure both your needs will be mutually accommodated.

Ill shut up now as I;ve had one glass of wine too many . . .

    Re: November Poll Update....

    Judy,

I bought one a few weeks ago and the Vitali bloke said he had plenty left then. I cant imagine there has been that much of a rush on them! I initially enquired via email about availability and the rest was done over the phone. It may be that he is not in the office much to answer emails. If you are still interested give him a call - it was all pretty easy and it arrived in the same week.

Well, I decided to swallow my pride (and hang the expense of a phone call to WA ;D) and phone him. *Clicked on the link on the left, got "The page cannot be displayed error" *So, I thought the link may be broken, so went a-Googling for it. *This time I got:

www.vitali.com.au could not be found. Please check the name and try again

Does anyone know anything? * ;D
