Chinese Lapsang Souchong Tea - $24.50/kg*

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight

To celebrate the year of the fire dog we are offering another very special Chinese tea.

Lapsang Souchong is a traditional black tea with a large wiry leaf which is noted for its smoky aftertasteand often regarded as the finest of smoked teas.

To produce Lapsang Souchong, the tea leaves are first withered over wood fires. After pan-frying and rolling they are then pressed into wooden barrels and covered with cloth to ferment until they give off a pleasant fragrance following which they are rolled into taut strips and placed in baskets hung on racks over smoking fires to dry and absorb the smoke flavor producing thick glossy black strips of tea leaves.

If this is your first CoffeeSnobs order (or your details have changed) please email the below information to: polls@CoffeeSnobs.com.au and then we will have the correct details for invoicing at the end of the polls. Fail to do so and your vote will be cancelled and your coffee offered to someone who missed-out.

    CoffeeSnobs Name:
    Real Name:
    Preferred name on the receipt:
    Email address for invoice:
    Delivery Address:
    Phone (MB or BH):

Note: the postal address should be somewhere that is attended during the day to avoid the delivery getting "carded" and you having to pick it up at a local post office or depot. Work, pub, local milkbar, grandmas house all make sense.

Firstly, thanks for all the work you guys do. Damn, I love these polls.

Also, Im interested in whats written on the bags or elsewhere about this particular Lapsang Souchong, as there seem to be a number of grades , types etc.

Anyway, thanks again, and hope to actually meet some of you one day.

having trouble finding-out anything else about this one except it was from a single estate and rated very high with the suppliers overseas buyers (who know a heck of a lot more about tea than I ever will).

    :)

PS: at 25kg a carton we are going to have to sell a qhole lot more of this one before it "goes live".

I cannot EVER see myself wanting to buy 15kg of the stuff for my own consumption. :P

All the retailers that sell this one (from the same supplier, same shipment) are asking $11+ per 100gm... $110 a kilo!!!

    Ouch.

Looks like a pretty fair markup in tea when it gets packaged into small packets.

    Poll closed.

Invoice will come soon and if everyone pays promptly then the tea will follow soon after. ;)
