    BeanBay - April

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    [s]Gday CSrs
    Just a quick heads-up

BeanBay wont be until after Easter, when exactly I do not know yet but Im optimistic that it will be sooner rather than later.

We are nearing the end of a ground-up BeanBay rewrite so that it performs better, supports roasted beans and most importantly for our friends at coffee origin the FairCrack donations will be on all the bean sales.

I will edit this post with the details of the April BeanBay when they are known and will email everyone using the email address that is set in your [profile] tab.

Have a great Easter how ever you choose to celebrate it,

    Andy.

Ah not really my rewrite... (I think I was using the "royal we"). Im just the guy with the silly ideas who is proding the code guy Matt who then suggests another better whacky idea. The end result should be great.

I dont know if Im a snob or just selfish, but Id be feeding them stovetop percolator with first crack/gra vac-pack with sugar and milk so everyone gets off on the coffee aroma, and the taste is neither here nor there, but you get to have your 5 double espressos with the 100g left ;)

On topic, I came searching for the beanbay, wondering what beans are in this month, so am looking forward to it. Good to hear the Fair Crack will be implemented as well.

This is as bad as the iiNet.... "when are the new internet plans coming out" thread over on Whirlpool.... (a site I also frequent)... It has reached 55 pages of speculation....

So to add to the speculation here.... I put my money on Friday the 20th at about 2p.m.

But one thing is for sure - well know when Andy lets us know. ;) :)

    Re: BeanBay - April

    Yep, short notice!

    ============ email ===============

Sorry for the very short notice but BeanBay will kick off 11:59 tonight.

The reason for the short notice is two fold.

CoffeeSnobs is in the middle of a ground-up rewrite and we dont want to release an untested version of the software on a live BeanBay sale. So we are forced to use the very good but problematic under load BeanBay V1.

To lessen the load I have just decided to give nearly no notice and do it a silly oclock so that the thump of BeanBay is smoothed out a little.

    The Beans on offer are:

Brazil Monte Carmelo sun dried $8.50
Columbia Volcan Galeras Supremo Bold $9.00
    Ethiopian Harrar Naturals $9.50
    Indian Monsooned Peaberry A $9.50
Jamaican Blue Mountain Mavis Bank Estate $98.50
Peru (Villa Rica) Grace Estate $9.00

The Blue Mountain will be in 500gm lots, the others in the standard 2.5kg.

With any luck the next BeanBay will under the new software and will have much better notice.

Sorry again and I hope you understand why I needed to do this
(and please dont fill my email inbox with hate mail!)

    Andy.
