    Next BeanBay - Wednesday June 27th - 9pm AEST

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight

    EDIT for more details see:
    http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1182779392/15

[s]At the moment it looks like the next BeanBay will be this Wednesday night at 9pm AEST.

We have most of the beans sorted for it and are just waiting on the last of the brokers to "come good" which should be tomorrow Im told. *I hope to send an email tomorrow night (late) or Wednesday morning with details. *

If the broker is any later than tomorrow then we might have to bump the BeanBay green sales to Thursday.
    [/s]
Now would be a great time to settle on where the pickup points are in each state! (
    (hint) *;)

If I could get there for the same price as the beans do Id be there yesterday! ;D Specially now as our summer has hit hot and heavy so I could really go for some nice cool outdoor air!

One of these days Ill be able to afford the ticket. Then youll have a scary looking dude with a strange accent knocking at your door! ;D

    Yippee, Beanbay!

Javaphile, you better be careful what you say. You might end up with a pile of us on your doorstep (if only we all had more than lint in our pockets).

Circumstances :( have stopped me from being around when beanbay has been on - havent been able to get any beans since January :o My pile is looking low. Ill be sticking to the computer like glue when its on this time.

Now just to figure out how & where to pick up the beans - why oh why do I have to be working when the beans are getting delivered? :-/

Juls, can you get the beans delivered to work? *

Me, being a fair way out of Sydney, I use the express post satchels and am always at work when delivery is meant to happen. *It really doesnt add THAT much to the cost of it all. *It makes for some interesting conversations at work too ... like, "MORE coffee? How much of this stuff do you DRINK?" ;D

Actually, I have a lot of lint. I collect it for the kids to use in a papermaking class at a local elementary school. :)

Dryer lint makes a good fire lighter. Boy scouts taught me something.

Need to know whats on offer, so I can let my proxy orderer know what to get.

Eek! Dont even get me started on home improvements! Since I bought this hundred plus year old house Ive done many projects. The major ones included such things as extending the basement off the back of the house by 3m, ripping out the 5 generations of old wiring and replacing everything from the service pole in, wiring every room with Cat5 and Coax, ripping out and replacing all the water pipes, removing half the floor of my porch to put in new footings capable of holding up a hot tub and then rebuilding the floor into a water tight area with an emergency overflow in case of a catastrophic failure of the hot tub, and of course ripping off the 3 layers of roofing and 2 layers of siding and replacing them along with removing the several dozen original windows and replacing them with new double glazed high e units.

Then theres the current projects of tearing out the old lathe and plaster walls in the bathrooms and replacing them and putting in new tile for the tub surround and removal and replacement of the kitchen floor thanks to the water supply line to the Cimbali blowing out in the middle of the night.

Nah, theres no projects here! ::)

And now back to your regularly scheduled Bean Bay discussion! ;D

===This is the email that was just sent ===

The next BeanBay will be Wednesday June 27th - 9pm AEST

…which is when the green bean section of BeanBay will fill with a selection of interesting and exotic items for home roasters. *The highlight this month was the arrival of the Yemen that we have been waiting for (at last!) and the Harar Longberry. *We also have some more of the Bali Gunung Agung (for those that missed out last time), a great PNG PB, Tiger Mountain, Tea, Cocao beans and even a great Decaf for those that need a break.

On offer will be the following coffees:
(All the below prices include FairCrack $0.50/kg) *

    Indian Tiger Mountain $8.50/kg
    PNG Peaberry $9.00/kg
    Bali Gunung Agung $10.50/kg
    Ethiopian Harar Longberry Naturals $10.50/kg
    Yemen Bani Ismail $22.50/kg

And the best home roast decaf we have ever tried:
Decaf - Swiss Water Process Mocha Java $13.00/kg (inc FairCrack $0.50)

Hey, I thought this was CoffeeSnobs?
Well, we also have high grades of tea from time to time and this is one of those times!
Tea - Indian Darjeeling SFTGFOP-1 (Super Fine Tippy Golden Orange Flowery Pekoe grade 1)
The tea is sold in kilogram lots at $29.50/kg (inc FairCrack $0.50)

We also have a very small amount of Cocao beans from Vanuatu for those that want to give chocolate making a go. *These are only 500g bags and when we have sorted a better freight method we will have some more on offer. *The chocolate discussion was: http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1174018247

    ===========

    FREIGHT OPTIONS

Mostly we use Australia Post Express satchels in 3kg ($10ea) and 5kg ($15ea) because they get to you fast!
We also have “Pickup Points” hosted by CoffeeSnob supporters around the country and while freight to these points is a little slower, the costs are at least half and social aspect of meeting-up with fellow snobs and chatting about our passion is a real highlight. *Check the threads (links below) for details on times and dates of the pickup points.

    Tasmania Pickup Points:
Beans will be freighted for $1.50/kg (or part thereof)
1 Hobart (Mt Stuart) thanks to ParaM

And Im just guessing that the mention of Coffee Parts as a delivery point was an error - since all previous mentions have been of Di Bartoli and Dennis.
Di Bartoli has the natural advantage of accessibility via public transport -- I come down from the Blue Mountains, and getting to Bondi Junction from Central is a breeze ....

Looks like another great selection this month -- I might have to grab some Tiger Mountain and see what all the fuss is about. The chocolate is tempting too :)

Im actually overseas at the moment, and the BeanBay wont start until 4am local time, so Im leaving my order with my ever-capable partner Kat, who with any luck will have it in just after 9. Ill definitely be back in time to catch you all at the Veneziano pick-up.

Wow LSD, I think that makes you the first CSr to fly into the country for a bean pickup.
    ;)

We do have a member that flys out of the country whenever we have pickup but hes at the pointy-end of the plane.

    Andy,

Will the Yemen be offered in 1kg or the standard 2.5kg lots. I have some already and its a magnificent bean, but Im accumulating a lot of beans at the moment.

Oh and those magnificent PNG Peaberry beans. They are magic, I love the aroma when theyre ground, nice and floral, and what a bean to cup!

For those interested, I have a post about my roast and cupping of the Yemen Ismaili here: http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1181218773

Good stuff Andy. Heres hoping I can get some using my Dialup connection at home!

    Javabeen.

All of the coffees are in 2.5kg lots. The Tea is 1kg and the Cocao is 500g.

The volume of beans this BeanBay is high so we hope that they dont disappear too fast.
