    ==================

    Another big coffee month passes and we around to BeanBay again already.

    The Aroma Festival kicked off at the rocks and looked like it was even bigger than last year with lots of CS sponsors and CSrs taking over the machines and playing with the shiny toys. *I think its nearly big enough to make it a two day event now or move it to a bigger venue to thin the crowds a bit.

    BeanBay!

    After seeing the Red African Cocoa sell out in minutes we have ordered a big pile for this month so everyone that missed-out should be able to get some. *Speaking of big piles, we have less varieties on offer this month but bigger volumes of each so that should help settle the initial feeding frenzy.

    BeanBay will kick-off Tuesday 22nd JULY .

    9:00pm QLD, NSW, VIC, TAS
    8:30pm SA, NT
    7:00pm WA
    11:00pm NZ

    On offer are new crops of:

    Ethiopian Yirgacheffe $9.00/kg*
    Mexico Veracruz Organic HG $9.50/kg*
    Yemen Bani Ismail $21.50/kg*

    Along with some:
    Mountain Top Estate Bin549, Bin478 and Bin35
    Indian Monsooned Robusta AA $7.50/kg*

    Cote dIvoire Red African Cocoa $15.00/500g*

    * All include a $0.50/kg FairCrack donation.

    Pickup points are dotted all over the country and we also have a new one in Launceston this month. *The freight to the pickup points around the country this month are again subsidised by site sponsor payments regardless of which state you are in and is just $1.00/kg.

    The Australia Post satchels had a price increase this month but thanks again to the site sponsors we can keep them at the old price of 3kg-$10 and 5kg-$15.

    Have a great coffee month CSrs,

    *Andy.

    I bags 1st order on the Chocolate as I missed out on the last 2 bean bays

    Mexican HG may be a good substitute for Nicaraguan HG bold??
    Anyway I know what I need to order & should be home from work in time

    Can I ask a question my daughter tells me Campos do a hot chocolate drink called melted chocolate pot?
    How can I replicate it??

    I am sure the Cote dIvoire Red African Cocoa will taste better
    But curiosity drives me to try

    I am sure the Mexican/Spanish salutation is
    Mr = senior
    Mrs = seniora
    Miss = seniorita

    But who cares we are here for the beans (not Mexican jumping beans) ::)

    Apart from the waiter from Bar-cell-onn-ah my only other spanish came from an Argentinian high school mate that taught me how to swear.

    I wont type that here though.

    Hi runfast- Id suggest that the best way is to place two separate orders ;)

    Yeah, 2 orders. Anything else will just confuse.

    There is plenty of everything tonight so you should have enough of time to get both orders in.

    (I hope!)

    Hopefully its not too late to ask, but is the cocoa pure, unsweetened cocoa, as opposed to drinking chocolate? If it is, Im sure Kat will want me to get some for her :) Im sure it is cocoa too, otherwise it wouldnt be labeled as such, but it never hurts to double-check!

    Hi LSD

    If its the Cote dIvoire Red African Cocoa then its 100% cocoa, no sugar, no fillers, no dairy and gluten free.

    I picked up some from last beanbay and it is delish. Still have some in my stash and will refrain this month so others have a chance ::)

    Cheers - Andrew

    It is 100% unsweetened cocoa for drinking choc.

    Right now I am drinking a cup with 50/50 cocoa sugar, with milk. Very nice.

    Got my 2.5kg of the Yirg and a kilo of the cocoa too. By the time I got the Yirg in my basket it was still at 217kg, but boy did it drop fast after that! I went back in after completing my order and there was just one lonely 2.5kg bag left.

    Went to buy some yirg and the computer froze for a minute, then when it came back up it was all gone, must have been a glitch in the system or just that many people buying at once slowed the system down.
    Got some Mexican and some Yemen Bani ismaili.

    My computer froze for a bit and the screen went black.
    Luckily I had clicked on the yirg "go" button just before this happened and the beans were in my basket when everything came good.
    Went back for the Mexican and the Yirg was gone.
    Gee, that was quick!
    Its the quick and the beanless around here.
    Great selection on offer.
    Thanks Andy for another great Bean Bay.

    I looked at the amount of the Robusta available and it was less than the Yirg, so I got the Robusta first. I still managed to get some Yirg, though it sounds like I was lucky!

    Happy camper here
    I did not get home from work until 9.30pm
    Missed out on the Yirg
    Scored my first kg of Chocolate from Bean Bay
    Some Indian Monsoon
    And I got the last 2.5 kg of Mexican

    Many peaceful roasting days ahead :)

    Plus a search in cupping and blends posts to see what are good single origin or blends

    Andy, thanks for a great BeanBay!! I cant believe the Yirg went in a matter of seconds!

    I was lucky enough to score myself some Yirg, Mexican and Cocoa. I learnt my lesson from the previous beanbay.

    Cant wait for next Saturday!

    Re: CoffeeSnobs News and GREEN BeanBay - 22nd July

    Hi all
    (well those that drink too much coffee and are still awake)

    I had to work tonight so sadly wasnt about for the fun. *I got home a couple of hours ago and have just got though my email "to dos".

    Can I please ask if everyone could be a little more careful when they get to the last button in BeanBay? *[Place Order]

    All your order information is on the screen at that point, your shipping address, your order and how you want it shipped. *When you hit [Place Order], change your mind and send me an email not only does it take me 10-20 minutes of email replies it also takes around 30 mintues of dangerous live database edits on a web server a long way from home. *Multiply that by a dozen people and watch the site admin get cranky! *

    A few extra seconds of reading makes all the difference to my small amount of spare (sanity) time.

    I joked with someone tonight that I might make as series of buttons... like maybe 10 of them that say...

    are you sure?, are you sure you are sure?, is that really your shipping address?, do you really want it shipped by elephant?

    ...I would prefer not to annoy everyone with a dozen dumb confirmation buttons.

    Plan B is is just to delete any order that has an error and if they can get the beans back out of BeanBay before someone else then good luck.

    The best bet would just be a dose of extra care please.
    :)

    Fast Yirg? *
    I really think that people need to use the wishing-well a little more. *If we knew that the demand for the Yirg was that high and the demand for the Yemen less we could have purchased 2 more bags of Yirg last month when I placed the order and one less of the Yemen (although getting stuck with some extra Yemen is not a problem I mind)

    I still think that the volumes and varieties are pretty close to correct even though they went really fast most people managed to get just what they were after.

    Enjoy your coffee CSrs, there are some rippers in there again this month.

    A.
