Some of the Green Bean starter pack beans I eally like - made a multi region with the Brazilian and Zimbabwean beans. Any chance of getting them in bigger packs (ie 2.5 kg or 1 kg bags? Thinking of roasting and giving them away as Christmas presents.

dave there are still a few beans in Green Bay (see link top left of page).
All the beans on CS are top notch.
Why not try something else for now as the next Bean Bay wont be until mid January.

tis true for the green bean packs... only one per person and then they vanish.
(these cost us more than we charge for them and are fiddly to pack). *After people have done their first roasts the step-up to using 2.5kg lots of green beans is an easy choice.
So, if I can still see it ...?

Or am I just older than BeanBay?

What a great way to start roasting!

I had bought 2kg of unknown region Colombian green beans off ebay (roasted about 400g so far with an air popper) before stumbling upon this site. I am concerned my beans are roasting too quickly (five minutes to second crack from a cold start) but even so I think I have made better coffee than I have ever tasted before ...

Very excited to taste these new beans! (Sumatra Blue Lintong, Eth. Yirga., PNG Maroogype AAA and Uganda Busmaga)

Now, back to the forum lurking ...

    Welcome to Coffee Snobs Jigoku.

5 minutes is normal for an unmodified popper.

Search this site for some hints and tips.

What are the beans in the starter pack? Are there any tasting notes?

I received mine today. It contained Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, Ethiopian Harrar Longberry, Mountain Top Estate Bin 478, PNG Maragogype. Although I read it would contain beans from 4 different regions (I dont know, maybe they are different regions?) I am not disappointed with two Ethiopian beans at all. The roasted Ethiopian Yirgacheffe I have had in the past was great, and I have never had the Harrar Longberry but am looking forward to it.

Great delivery time as well. I ordered mine yesterday and have it in my hot little hands now! Thanks to those involved.

Now, which to roast first? Decisions, decisions.

    Travis.

    Hi Everyone

First I would like to thank Andy for the super fast delivery of my Green Bean Starter Pack. I received the following beans for anyone thats intersted and would appreciate any advice in roasting them in a corretto setup.

PNG - Kinjibi AA and Maragogype
Ethiopian - Yirgacheffe and Gambella Naturals

Cant wait to set up corretto. I would also like to thank everyone and anyone who have posted anything on here about roasting and corretto as it has been a great assistance to me in making some decisions.

I am looking forward to the beanbay sale this month. Keep checking emails everyday ha ha. I guess you could say I have the roasting bug.
