Corretto, please remember that leaping into and rolling about in that huge pile of beans while laughing with maniacal glee is expressly forbidden.

Ah yes, 80 KG in 32 bags. Just read something on the 2 boxes about 25kgs each.

No wonder the poor courier couldnt lift them by himself ;D

*Well the Brisbane pickup day certainly went well. Many thanks again to Corretto for allowing us to roam around her home and Presso for covering the delivery costs and the Presso demos. Thanks also to the providers of the tasty snacks.
*It was great to meet several local snobs too.Corretto and Presso of course.Billi, Sparky, Novice, and Meg-E and 3Feet and their respective apprentice snobs.
*Now the wait for the embarrassing photos begins. While I try and figure out a way to spirit that great beer fridge away.

Cheers and looking forward to March,
    Ken,

Thanks to both Cameron and Belinda for the pickup. This makes buying beans too easy....

It was great to meet a few of the snobs. I would have liked to have stayed a bit longer but with my wife and family waiting for me elsewhere, I may well have been roasted myself if I stayed any longer.

I actually did manange to track down that elusive red crema. It seemed to just drip out of the La Marzocco on every shot. Then today my trusty BZ managed a similar experience. Going to show that its really not the equipment, but how you drive it that matters.

    Until the next bean pickup...

    Cheers,

    Mark.

Thanks to Belinda for her hospitality. It was great to see the original "Coretto". Im sure Andy has a plaque made up ready to stick on the side of your BM.

It was great to touch base with the CSers, I think the coffee porter direct from the fridge door was a hit!

I look forward to our next meeting, I think its great that we can "pool" our freight and spend the savings on the green bean.

Thankyou so much to Andy and the moderators of CoffeeSnobs, without the dedication and vigilance of a few this site would not be half as "safe" as it is.

The Family and I ended up crashing on a mates floor later that evening, I checked out the Fumidore place in town but it wasnt open, better luck next time. May be we could meet there next time, it looks like a funky little place and on a Friday night I bet it real starts to pump.

Re: Brisbane Feb Beanbay Pickup Point

Thanks again to Belinda and Cameron for the pick up "do" on Saturday.

I had a great time and learnt more in a couple of hours than through my reading over the last couple of months!

Belinda, you rock girl! No one else I know has a second fridge with a built in beer tap on the outside - just for storing and serving your incredible home brew! Folks she brews it from SCRATCH! Grains and all.... Saw the evidence with my own eyes!

Cameron, my presso had an incredible workout for the rest of the weekend. Getting a nice thick crema on my shots.

Now just got to work on the quality of the roast, save up for my Expobar minore II (Just like Belindas - shes my new hero) and I might rock too!

Im really looking forward to doing this all again in th future - wherever it is held.

    Cheers,

    Meg

Here are the beans resting snugly on the Beanbay Bed waiting patiently to be pickup by the eager Brisbane CSers.

And here is the proud sponsor Cameron "Presso" with the hostess Belinda "Corretto". Note the Presso itself in between the two CSs.

More photos to come later [smiley=evil.gif]

    More photos:

Cameron Presso, demonstrates the Presso to an enthusiastic onlooker (Meg)

Here the group looks on in awe (well, not really) at the original Corretto aka Breadmaker roaster. I wont put names on in case I get some wrong and get chastised :D

A close up of the Presso in action. Such lovely crema!

What did Presso say/do to elicit such a hearty laugh?

    Oh lordy knows...

I have a million photos of me like that! My husband says I have a flip-top head when I laugh.

I think actually Cameron was just asked what use the bottomless portafilter was... and I think he said cause it looks good or it could all go horribly wrong. I worked beautifully though!
