BeanBay Green Bean Release - October 2013

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    October 2013
    Released into BeanBay now:

    Burundi Tangara

Burundi Tangara is a clean, washed and well sorted bean. Roasted to high CS9 roast depth it produced fruity (blood plum-esk) mid bodied espresso with a brighter, lingering finish. High density and it took a fair amount of heat early in the roast. Great coffee and very fair value for an origin that has trouble getting it's coffee to market.

    Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Dilla Zuria

Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Dilla Zuria is a triple picked, grade 1 washed Yirg. Huge florals off the grinder, light bodied and stone fruit sweetness in the cup. Pricey at $16.50/kg but a great example of a microlot Yirg. We will run out of this so as always, first in, best dressed till next season.

    Enjoy!

Well that was fast with the grade 1 Yirgacheffe!

Must say that I feel about Ethiopian coffee the same way that people here tend to speak about Yemen... it just keeps drawing me back.

No kidding! I only just saw this post last night and it was already gone! I do love a good Yirg.

    I live in Fremantle, WA.
So I routinely expect that things take quite some time to reach me even when being ordered from within WA, or even within metro Perth, a greedy city where extortionate prices and lousy service go hand in hand.
And somewhat belatedly I decided to buy a friend some greens for her birthday to encourage her to continue the home roasting journey she thinks she would like to take. Touch and go whether they would arrive in time, but hey let's give it a go.
So how staggered was I when my order of 5kg of beans from beanbay at 08.30 on Monday arrived by 08.30 on Tuesday and they've come all the way from Geelong?

What gives? Were you waiting hiding behind a lamp post with my order before I knew what I wanted?

Wonderful service Andy and Paula, thanks for inadvertently helping make the day!!
You deserves all your hard earned success

Excellent, love putting a "how the heck did they do that" smile on faces around the country.

It's also why when people ask me where we are based my standard reply is "the Internet". With great service we ARE local to all of Australia.

I suspect all of beanbay delivery crew are suffering from caffeine substance abuse getting their free fix every pick up, the thought of Andy cutting off supply for under performance is enough to keep them keen and on their toes at all time, Andy you are one evil genius
