BeanBay Green Bean Release Jan/Feb 2019

available in BeanBay now:

Yemen Mocha Selection Ismaili

Yemen Mocha Ismaili - It’s no secret around here, this my “if stranded on desert island and you can only take one” coffee. Small beans which produce a surprising amount of chaff during roasting. This is the highest speciality grade from Yemen and it makes all the other regions pale in comparison. Perforated drum roasters will lose a few beans and probably get a few stuck in holes but the results are well worth it. In the cup you will get a viscous syrup of fat sultanas and spice and an amazing lingering flavour that will have you wearing a trail back to the machine for more. This coffee took an amazing journey to get here and I think it's a bargain at $35/kg, enjoy!

PNG Goroka A

PNG Goroka A - New Guinea highland coffee, processed really well and hand sorted but not accurately screened so some beans are smaller than others but don't let that put you off. This is an easy bean to roast and results are always great. Crisp acidity and a very clean finish in the cup, this works well as espresso, with milk and great as a filter coffee too.

Sulawesi Rante Kapua Torajah

Sulawesi Rante Kapua Torajah is something we haven't seen for a long time. This is a washed Indo that produces great body in an espresso with less of the earthiness found in many Indonesian coffees. Easy to roast, it really works best in the darker ranges where the body is syrupy and the cocoa comes out. Enjoy as a single origin or add to a blend to lift mouthfeel.

Yemen Qishr (Coffee Fruit Tea)

Yemen Qishr is the coffee cherry and parchment that is removed from the outside of the coffee seed (bean) and dried. A very traditional all-day drink in Yemen and neighbouring countries, it's very rare in Australia but available here now.
Directions: 1-2 heaped teaspoons per cup, simmer on the stove at 80C or boil the kettle and pour it into a teapot. Leave for 5-8 minutes. Can be drunk hot like tea or later chilled and drunk as an iced tea. Sweet, fruity and very clean finishing. 150g (average weight) packed in a funky Tea Tisanes triangle tin.

...the required fine print...
With the exception of the more expensive 1kg lots and the bulky 2kg Monsoon coffees, all BeanBay green beans are packed in 2.5kg zippered cotton bags, perfect for storage for up to 3 years when kept in a cool, dark and dry position.

We ship all paid orders out from the Snobbery Monday to Thursday and BeanBay will show the available shipping options and actual freight costs to your area. Larger orders are typically cheaper to freight per kilogram so we suggest ordering all your requirements at once and we also strongly recommend that you ship to an attended address (eg: work or grandma's house) to avoid delivery delays.

Monday to Thursday we will ship everything same day that we receive payment for but please remember bank lag means it will take at least a day for your payment to get to us even though your bank took it from you instantly. If you want it faster, don't procrastinate, please just order earlier, less stress and never have a reason to ask us "are we there yet?"
