Re: Sydney Pickup - 1st September

Cant do 1st September :( but could do something the following weekend. *If thats not too long to wait, maybe the beans could be dropped off at my work again and we could have a get together at GRINDS, Cronulla? *People north can probably get a pretty cheap ticket from P&O, and for those out west, it really is now safe to travel there! *Delivery pick ups are also welcome after hours at my place.

Otherwise I suggest its back to Di Bartoli (hasnt been there for a while) or perhaps someone else might like to volunteer their home or an alternative?

Lets take a poll !!! (only joking Andy) ;D

Maybe not enough time for a poll ;)
...and 5 hours of no replies to your post Ill bite the bullet and call Di Bartoli as the second pickup point.

The beans should be at CoffeeParts and Di Bartoli by the 31st August.

I would vote for a Dennis drop off, and a a GRIND pick up if that is an option. But understand if I missed the boat and Di Bartoli or Coffeeparts are the only options. I didnt reply to Dennis post as I was waiting to see if someone else was putting their hand up.

Andy, the post has been read 58 times and only me and one other person has made a post...apathy?

I vote for a delivery to my work place and think Coffeechaser does too - thats 2 votes to zit.

And Andy, I too appreciate your patience and organisation.

ps. at least its all on one page!

Apathy? Maybe, I prefer to think that its just the other states having a look ;)

Ok, Ill mark it as a Dennis pickup and set the date to 31st August (the delivery date).

We will assume that anyone picking this option will either get it from your work after the 31st or wait till the 8th for a get together.

    Done!

    Thanks once again Andy.

Ill let everyone know when the beans have arrived and those who have chosen "Dennis" will be able to pick up from either Sefton or Sylvania at any time after delivery or at Grinds, Cronulla - how about Sunday brunch 10am on the 9th?

Re: Sydney Pickup - 1st September

If it is the Sunday it would have to be 11:30 or later for me. Otherwise I can do a pickup direct outside of hours.

Uh oh! this is how 5 pages start ;)

Re: Sydney Pickup - 1st September

    Hi Andy
The order form only gives Cronulla as pickup point. Ive ordered, but will await news that pickup is available from Di Bartoli before final payment.
Thats because to get from Blackheath in the Blue Mountains to Bondi Junction takes almost 3 hours, but getting to Cronulla is impossible from there.
Coffeesnobs member Hazchem offered some time back to put me in touch with someone in the Mountains who could collect for me, but Im not sujre if thats still a possibility. So Di Bartoli seems my only option.
    Cheers

It was probably coffeeparts or Dennis as the pickup points, which is why Andy posed the question in this thread earlier.

Re: Sydney Pickup - 1st September

Anthony, please read the above posts.

CoffeeParts and a "Dennis" are the two Sydney pickup options this month.

There were no options for "only Cronulla"... there is a "Dennis" option with translates to Sefton, Sylvania or at Grinds, Cronulla

You can always opt for Express Post... it gets delivered to your door over night... anywhere in Australia.

    :)

At risk of helping to stretch this to 5 pages, I havent replied as I took one look at the thread about Hazels cupping course, another look at my (now humungous) pile of beans and decided that I could live without trying any new beans this month but I reeeeaaaaalllly want to know about cupping. *So I wont be using the pick up points this month anyway. :)

For the next beanbay, I can be a pickup point for the people in the west/northwest. I live in Carlingford, and may be a bit more convenient than the eastern suburbs for some people.

My schedule is limited, most days Im available before 1pm, and my days off are Sunday/Monday.

    PM if interested.

I guess Ill have to opt for the $15 courier charge this time around -- would it be possible to consider Di Bartoli as a pickup point in future for people who, like me, are without cars and have to depend on train access from Central?

    Hi Anthony

Can I suggest that next time round, you post your preference in the thread beforehand. *I think most of us are pretty accomodating wherever possible - I know Ive lugged 10kg of beans into the city in a backpack for someone who shall remain anonymous. *Personally, I would have been happy to see the extra delivery point go to a different place - even to the blue mountains ;) *I dont suggest to know your situation though I would have thought your time and cost of ticket to Di Bartoli might be worth more than the $15 courier charge. *If it forms part of an outing though, despite any stories you may hear, trains really do go to Cronulla as well as Bondi, and the coffee at Grinds and atmosphere around the mall is great!

Nunu has also generously put his hand up as a delivery point for next time, so maybe that could also be an option for you and others?

Anthony, I can probably arrange something to help you out, I am closed to Central and have friends who live in the Mountains and work near me.

I havent bought anything this month but will happily return to my old stomping ground of the Shire for a catch up over coffee down the Nulla

I am sure it is "safe" indeed.

Thanks for your efforts again this month Dennis. It is a good saving being able to get it as part of a bulk delivery especially with 7.5kg this time around.

It will be great to see what the general opinion is about Grind as well. There is another cafe in the mall that has had some good reviews as well. I think it is called Kaffeno, or something close to that spelling, one of the baristas there came 5th in the Australian Barista Championship a couple of years back apparanetly. They use Di Lorenzo I think. So those who are keen for a few rounds may want to venture there as well on pickup day.

    So thanks Dennis!
