Strangely, I really don't like it. Doesn't seem to fit in with the 'artisan' character of coffee making

Wrong. While the original Behmor didn't allow manual control that model was superseded years ago by the Behmor Plus which gives the operator the ability to manually control the profile. Java "It...

The whole sj burrs in the mini discussion is getting old on the forum and there are a lot of previous threads that can point users in whatever direction they wish to take at their own risk. I for...

I have :) (You can read my initial thoughts here if you're interested: Early roasting experience (http://www.bulletr1.com/index.php?topic=9245.msg9990;topicseen#new) ) I don't think anybody...

For whatever reason I don't tend to blend Kenyans. I find them beautifully clean, fruity and juicy as espresso, but I prefer them even more roasted for pour over. Interested to hear how others blend...

The Compak K10 is an excellent grinder. As far as doser mechanisms go, I believe they are nicer to use than Mazzers- a better feel IMHO. You should consider any similar Titan conical, but you...

Alexpid liked post by Dimal On thread : Pre roast brazil, guatemale and robusta blend
Think you might find that the Robusta is going to be under-roasted though mate, even if the colour appears to be similar. Always best to roast Robusta on its own to ensure it gets what it deserves......

Temp control will make life a lot easier and a if you buy one with a gooseneck it'll mean you can pour direct from the kettle without making a mess. If you're planning on buying a new kettle anyway...

Yes, that's good but heavy on the African beans. If that is what floats your boat, then why not? :D Here's a good blend to try that was recommended by another CSer many years ago: equal...

Alexpid liked post by flynnaus On thread : Basic bean stock
A very subjective question: 1) What coffee do you have access to in Denmark? 2) What coffee have you tried in the past that you really enjoyed? If I had to pick a "Basic" stock: It would be:...

Be prepared for some 'woody' flavours, or to wait a bit longer to sample the blend. No harm done either way....best way to learn.

Get the 8mm seal for the Alex. The 8.5 works ok but handle locks in short of the standard 6pm. The red also goes faster!! :D Cheers

All what you need is what I posted on the other thread. You can decide how you want to mount the SSVR+Potentiometer. I have mine mounted on a board externally.

Well, post-blend (i.e. roast robusta separately) only (the robusta need longer to rest than arabica beans....typically a 2 week rest or longer is best). And don't go past 10-15% robusta (in my...
