    steamer troubles

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Hi guys i have an isomac tea and are issues with the steamer,it seems to be adding way to many bubbles and creating an almost split texture in appearance.
The machine has been absolutely perfect until 2 weeks ago ,i am hoping it is only a minor issue and can be easily fixed with a good service.
Any advice ,tips or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. :) :) :)

    Re: steamer troubles

    1: Where are you located

2: Who were you going to get to service it

    What is actually wrong ?

Bubbles is at best a user problem and could be a slight change in Steam pressure or milk, that your not accounting for in your method?

That is, unless it has almost totally died ?

A: When did you last have it serviced
B: When did you last clean teh steam tip
C: What is the gauge reading before and during the process ?
D: How is teh temp of teh group / Coffee in teh cup ?

Group and Steam are related, so if teh steam was dead so to speak... Would expect to see / taste a difference in the shot as well ?

    OR

    Ya steam valve/seat ;D

    Re: steamer troubles

Thanks for the reply anger management i am located in sydney and was thinking of taking the machine to jetblack esspresso in mosman who service and sell isomacs.
The machine is 2yrs old and has not had a proper service at all ,i do backflush the machine weekly and descale it every 3months and it is immaculate and has been perfect.
I am 100% certain something is wrong as i am reasonably experienced in making coffee.
Steam tip was cleaned 2 weeks ago just before i started having troubles .
In regards to gauge readings the steam gauge sits on about 1.7 -2 bar when not in use or just before texturing & sits on 1.4-1.5 bar during steaming,i will get back to you regarding temps of group/extraction temp.
    Thanks for the feed back

    Re: steamer troubles

    The extra info is handy..

Pressure seems a little high to me but I have only played with one or two of these... And for only a moment or two.

My guess is something re the steam valve if every thing else is OK...

With out a flow meter and specs it is hard ... err VERY subjective when looking at condensation from a steam wand and attempting to say YES vs NO as to is it OK....

I am sure *jetblack esspresso will sort it in a few minutes... *But you might as well get it fully checked out / serviced at the same time.

PS. How many home users ever service / replace the o-rings / seals etc on their steam valve/tap ? * Not too many I would suggest.. *The pain is when the seat gets some crap and gets damaged and then you replace or re seat *;)

Depends on who the customer is, and what puts more $ in ya pocket *:o :o

Came across this machine for sale and Macey mentioned that the problem got fixed. I have cut and pasted the comment for others in a similar boat:

Some thing else to check on the cool touch Isomic Tea wand is if you remove the tip for cleaning ect check that the small O ring is still in place just inside the tip...This can get disloged when replacing the tip if your not carefull and then you have no seal between plasitic tube and the wand this makes for bib bubbles.

    Cheers Gra....
