    Stove top steamer?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Does anyone know where I can get a stove top milk steamer? Ive been checking out the sponsors sites but nobody seems to have them. Are they still manufactured by anybody? Or have they all been replaced with electric ones?

It seems like it would be a good cheap way to get some nice foam.

Hi skiboo and welcome to CS!

If you were referring to something like the atomic, site sponsor Sorrentina Coffee sell a replica that I think will do the job.

Hey, thanks for the reply. As nice as the sorrentina looks, I dont really have $450 to spend on something like this. Unless theres some way to just get the milk steamer part thats significantly cheaper (couldnt find it on the site).

I was hoping for something dedicated, more like this:

Not nearly as attractive (aluminium...) Maybe Ill have to get it sent overseas. Or get out and actually shop instead of poking around the internet.

Ah OK, well at the other end of the scale you could easily microwave the milk and use one of those little battery operated whisks - they do a surprisingly good job for the money!

    Hello all-

I know what you mean: certainly 450 is way too much for a milk frother- even if it is the nicest looking frother you will ever see... and makes a good cup.

however we sell a CX25 coffee maker that can be used as a steamer only- (and fully fledged stovetop coffee machine if you ever need it).

you can see the CX25P (pressure gauge model) on our website but if you only need the steam function the CX25 would be fine. At the moment I only have one demo unit left in stock- I would be happy to let go of it for a discount. send me an email - it will be a real coffee snob bargain...

There are also steam only models available. I think Simply Coffee in Adelaide stock a nice compact unit that isnt too expensive. There is a link to them our site- I am sure they could be persuaded to post out a unit.

    :-)

I am after the Bialetti stovetop milk steamer. After searching extensively on the internet I have noticed I am not the only one looking for a stove top steamer. I had seen one 12 years ago in a coffee bean shop and I am kicking myself for not buying it. Does anyone know if they are sold and if so, where? If not, are they not manufactured anymore?

    Hi Guys,

Have you considered a bellman espresso/cap stove top machine. I have read here on the forums that a few people have some good success with these. I believe someone was traveling around in a bus and using one. They seem to always be on evil bay and I have considered buying one for travel myself.

    Cheers,

    BeanBay.

Ive got the Bellman Stove Top Steamer CX25S. I actually bought it from Di Bartolis in Bondi Junction. It does an amazing job frothing milk. I use it for cappucinos and also just heating milk for my wife. I have a Bialetti Brika and Bialetti Moka for my espressos.

Only tip I would give with the Bellman is that put hot water when filling it so it takes less time to boil and pressurise. Its quite an ingenious device and works fantastically. Its amazing to see the steam come out of the wand.
