Just noticed the Sunbeam Latte Pro milk jug with a temp indicator strip built in on their website.

Couldn't find a direct link to it, but you can see it on the promo page above. Looks interesting.

I was steaming by hand for ages, but now estimate my temps were about 55 degrees. Thing is I got used to drinking it like that and 65 is now very hot to me.

That jug is free via redemption with the Vita I think.

I can't gauge the milk temp with any decent consistency using my hand so always use a thermometer, it helps me be consistent.

I wonder if the temp strip reacts quickly enough and is easy to see? Interesting concept none the less.

    Cheers

I saw stick-on strips at the local roaster and also online when I was looking for thermometers. Interesting but I prefer the thermo - I figured I'd be constantly altering the angle of the jug trying to see "are we there yet?"

I use the Espresso Gear stick on thermometers on my 3 jugs. Started with the small one I use the most and liked them so much I got 2 more.
The temperature squares go from green to black and there is apparently a small amount of 'lag' catered for.
The only issue I have with being able to see them is early morning when the sun is streaming in our kitchen window, I find the change from green to black a little hard to pick up, but on the whole I have found them a very positive addition.
