Try bleeding/purging the steam wand for 10 seconds before steaming your milk....

and try not to steam more than 200mls of milk

Re: problems with my SB Ristretto

When I got my new Bezzera Domus I had many problems with milk texture or lack of it at the beginning, 4 hole tips are great but until one learns how to use them they can be a pain

Now im no expert but this is the way I overcame my problems

First purge steam for 5 or more secs.
It not only helps to get the water out but it stabilises the steam temp in the wand

    1) use the correct jug for the amount of milk used
    2) I put the pour spout of jug up on the machine side of the steam wand
    3) only have the steam holes just covered by the milk
    4) turn on steam knob to a position of 3/4 to full steam from the get go
    5) let the steam do the work and get the swirl
    6) should see milk change in just a few seconds to foam

My machine micro foams in 5 to 8 seconds

My number 1 mistake was not turning the steam wand to full from the get go and thinking a little extra steam time will give me better results

But no mater how long it takes on your machine
The technique should be almost the same
