Italy Good Cafes/Beans
I'll be heading to Italy in a few weeks time to explore the country with my partner, just wondering if anyone knows some good cafes/roasters to check out that are on par with Australia (if that exists there) or any cool historic Italian cafes.
Also is it possible to find Illy espresso cups in nick nack stores over there?
Morning Kyeba, Italy is a big country.
Overall, we found espresso to be excellent, of course like anywhere you do get the odd dud.
Keep your eyes open, good places stand out.
Watching this thread with interest. Off to Milan and Lake Como in a few months.
Anyone got cafe recommendations for these places in particular?
So far we've been to Rome for two and a bit days, sampled their coffee at a few little espresso bars, very cheap at 90 euro cents. There was a few different specialty coffee cafes in Rome but we only stopped at one called Pergamino Caffè with a good selection of single origins but be prepared to pay 5-8€. For any beer drinkers there is a craft beer bar two doors down with a good selection of Italian and European craft beers on tap, the Saison was refreshing after hiking to the top of the dome of St. Peters Basilica.
Currently in Naples and made the wrong choice this morning to walk 1.5km ascending west to Ventimetriquadri - Specialty Coffee via tight one way alleys shared with vehicles and grotto underpasses. Looked into a subway train back which was easy, should have caught one up to the coffee shop but wouldn't have got this view. 20190612_100727.jpg
