Ive got a 29er, but I usually only ride it to work :(

About 15 years ago I used to race in the local MTB club, but was in it for the fun and exercise, and was usually happy just to finish the race.

Im more a lapsed road rider with poor MTB skills, but have a duallie that gets taken to Lysterfield once in a while. For a couple of years my MTB of choice was a single-speed hardtail -- going to build up another one eventually!

When I lived in Stratphine I used to ride bunya all the time .. miss it. Mostly do street riding in the CBD these days .. but will be hitting bunya again soon.

I met up with some boys at gap cycles and rode Cootha, that was excellent, and ive done some DH at the track at Dayboro, will be good to have a blast at Bunya at some point.

Well i have probably ridden about 8 times in the last year, I have a 07 Norco Sasquatch (Hard tail freeride) and usually like heading out to Daisy Hill - Well i used to........ I am fairly unfit now, not sure how id cope with the long climbs (well actually i do, i would push myself to hard, get heat stroke and feel like crap for at least 2 days)

Not a mountain biker. My body is too beat up for that kinda punishment.

But I upgraded from a cheap and nasty rigid framed road bike to a nice dual suspension mountain bike in november last year.
Am a seriously passionate cyclist. Its what I do to stay fit, healthy and trim.

I ride nearly every day and have 12, 15, 20, 25 and 33 km circuits, mostly on country roads that can only be described as sealed goat tracks *;D

    Thanks.
Its a great way to stay fit for me. My knees need replacing and as much as Id love to walk to stay fit they just cant cope with the impact.
Cycling removes the impact issues and keeps the joints moving.

The dual suspension is pretty overkill for road use, but I love the way it smooooths out the rough surface of my local roads.

I watched some vids of downhill mountain bike racing a while ago. Those blokes are crazy!!
I never even rode that hard when I used to have dirt bikes *:D

Wow .. I am the same as you mate .. two bad knees from my days as a sprinter. Love riding though .. street and single track .. great stress reducers.
