Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Guys I have been with yous for quite a while please show me the common courtesy of a simple answer or two to my previous post which was caught up in franks mess and consequently now a locked topic, i thought i raised a valid point worthy of a valid answer..

A while ago i posted a positive for veneziano caffe (who are site sponsors) for the fantastic deal they did for me on a set of marzocco baskets matched to an espro convex tamper and my post disappeared quicker than a lick of butter in a boarding house fridge, Whats with that? Was that an inappropriate post? I have my thoughts but Ill keep them to myself for now....... :-X

There are two very straight forward, simple, as well as deserving questions there. they are not loaded nor baited or of an alterior motive, I really need an honest answer to them please. *Ray 8-)

I think this would have best been raised as a PM to the Mods just after it occurred rather than posting in public.

    Re: swept under the carpet

    Hi Ray,

I cannot imagine a reason that that should have happened *:-/

Veneziano are a site sponsor and any equipment they sell you is fine as is your feedback for them, which was no doubt greatly appreciated by Pete, Rocky and the gang...

Occasionly (rarely) weird glitches happen or a mod simply makes a goof when moving or splitting a thread. I wonder if your post simply got caught with something else *:-?

Pat Veneziano on the back as much as you like. They do a terrific job- as do all site sponsors. I think the overwhelming majority of members would agree that the sponsors are passionate people all of whom do their utmost to assist....

Now can we get back to the coffee?

I wasnt going to raise it at all until I saw the way Frank was handled, very abruptly, I thought, but thats just my thought and I make no judgements toward anyone, we all have our reasons for doing things and having said that I would like to know the reason behind removing my post please......

As previously stated, I really believe that its more likely than not human error or a software glitch....

I agree that the best action would be to take it up with the mod team and if you are aware, the mod who moved your post.

The great aspect of this forum is that most members play nice and the mod team gets to do pretty much nothing...With my (limited) experience of other forums, this seems to be rare and yet another special quality of this caffeine addicted mob of nearly 8000 happy members!

Im feeling you 2mcm and understand where youre coming from, but am feeling somewhat "swept under the carpet" myself. An informed answer from an informed moderator who has at least checked it out would be fantastic to say the least.

    Hi All....

Some times it is software, sometimes a click at the wrong time... *Both Moderator and or Poster..

To date I have had a few posts pulled *::) :-? :-[ :o 8-) and felt *lots of emotions..

However, the Mods have always followed with a PM *(Thanks *:-* *:-* *)...

I have also had a number of posts just get snapped up in the eather... Multi Tabs etc and in my Cache they appear, but never could be found on CS ? * :-? *:-?

Thus I have just accepted that they were a glitch and *re edited / posted.. All was fine.. Maybe some cut and pasted code ? *Who Knows..

A mod may have been involved, but if they were they never identified them sleves, so ASSUME glitch; until proven other wise.. *( PS. This does not mean the mods can now do what they want and not feedback and ASSUME I will think it is a glitch *;D )

On that note: *I need a shower, shave and a s%$& *followed by a Good coffee *;D *and to read a book.

Ray just post it again & see what happens
You are a in my opinion a great CS member 8-)

I remember last year I posted the same or similar answer on two different posts
However to my defence they did require the same answer

Anyway I did get a PM from the Mods to advise that the post will be removed/deleted because It was posted twice

Looking forward to your next and many more posts Ray

Oh...darn...I was so going to be doing that...;D ;)

No, seriously, I think in all my time of being on the team here, I have not deleted someones post. I think its very rare for us to really do that. Mostly, we edit or move. So, its probably more likely to be a glitch or accidentally done.

And yes, I also think that this would have been better served if youd PMd us, Ray when you saw it happen. We could have tried to figure out quicker what actually happened. Now, I guess its lost in cyber space...

But, dont let that stop you posting here! I, like others have enjoyed your contributions too!

    Agreed,

Deletions are very rare and generally only for blatant breaches of site sales and posting policy, for example- non sponsors promoting goods/services and linking to their commercial websites, dodgy Chinese tamper salesmen and member posted eBay links or similar. Cross posting (drives me nuts ::)) and spam would also be deleted. None of these would normally impact on members.

As Scoots mentioned, the chances of finding out what happened to your post Ray are tiny as too much time has elapsed. My instinct is that its most likely that it moved with some other posts or something like that.

The mod team prefer to do nothing and the pleasure is that is what we generally do as we have a great bunch of members who understand what the philosophy of CS is and who share in the lurve....The less we do, the happier we are. After all, we are here for the coffee as well!

    Hope that clarifies things ;)

I think I know how it happened 2MCM actually found this post a month after shifting it http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1240839258 and thought it would make a good moderators tool thereby allowing him to travel back in time to shift the Post before it was actually noticed to be in the wrong place. Unfortunately he ripped a hole in the space time continuum in the process ;D

I dont think it was totally sorted ;)

Mods will always be Mods regardless of who they are and how great they are.. Its like the Domestic CEO / Cash controller at home or even the Pay office...

    They have the POWER :o ;D :D ;)

But do agree that we are all more informed and aware of the fact that we should not point a finger; as many things can happen and they do and will continue to do so..

    Yes, my forgetters getting better
    While my rememberer is broke.

Sometimes I wonder why I should even bother getting up of a morning.. Oh that right Black Ebony and Cocobolo.. Juanjo... That was great, worth ever second of the sweat and pain...

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAY ( 58 wasent it ? )
