    New recruit

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi all

Just wanted to say a quick "hello" to everyone as an aspiring Snob, so without further ado ...

    Hello!

Ive recently acquired a caffeine addiction courtesy of my colleagues and feel its time to move on from the stuff we drink every morning; old, overly fine, pre-ground coffee brewed for too long in a Bodum press - nice!

My wife gave me a KitchenAid "Artisan" grinder for my birthday to use in my beloved Moka, but after doing a bit of research Im thinking the money would be best spent on some quality second hand kit (machine + grinder).

So thats it... On with the journey!

    Welcome. :)

In my limited experience with the Kitchen Aid grinder it does a good job for most coffees, except it wont (usually) grind fine enough for espresso.

Get some fresh beans (less than 2 weeks from roasting) and enjoy the bodum style press coffee--it can be really good.

    Greg
