    Making Australia Happy

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Go to http://makingaustraliahappy.abc.net.au/ and take the test

    Very interesting.
The test gives you a happiness rating on a scale of 1 to 100, the average person scores around 75. Anything above 50 means you are more happy than unhappy about life.

Currently, the happiest Aussies live in Tamala, WA and the happiest state is Tasmania.

In that case I thought you would have forgotten ;D
Sounds like it was a low scoring IQ test in general from what Ive heard. One on facebook told me I had 134. I doubt I would have got that on this test.

Happiness test I would hope for more than 50 but probably not!! Pity with these things you always have to sign up. Cant be bothered going through the process.

    On-line IQ tests are brilliant.
Ive even seen one of them advertise to test your IQ by seeing what the number is in amongst the dots - its from a bloody colour-blind test! Nothing to do with IQ at all.
But i guess where theres a chance they can take money from someone they will advertise this garbage as long as they can get away with it

I got in the happier range.

With online IQ test mine seems to float around 130-140, but when I did that one the tv last week I got 151.

Yeah, I personally believe there is a lot of inaccuracy with IQ tests.
Like I have done one test that involved a bit of basic trigonometry, if you had not been taught trig, then you wouldnt get the marks, so you are getting less of a mark for intelligence due to lack of education, and not necessarily the ability to do it.

    Re: Making Australia Happy

Many tests bandied around as IQ tests are full of these problems. Many online are not likely to be legit tests.

Historically, even legit IQ tests where proper population assessments were done suffer from this and showed ethnic differences due to education and familiarity bias.

I dont know specifically what is in modern IQ tests (Ive never taken one) but there is still controversy in the scientific literature about how well they assess intelligence.

I havent done a proper IQ test since high school.

Good tests arent biased towards educational based answers but good tests are not likely to be found online.

Im not going to try the happiness test because Im still unemployed and a negative score may break it. :(

Yeah, I personally believe there is a lot of inaccuracy with IQ tests.
Thats why, in genuine circumstances, the incumbent(s) are usually subjected to a number of very different tests, usually timed (but not always) that encompass as broad a spectrum of cognitive function as possible within what ever constraints have been established.

Anything less than this is not really worth the paper it is written on..... ;)
