    Anyone else???

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Im not a hipster, or a novel writer....
I dont live in a tiny condo, or with my parents, or own an electric bicycle ...
and I dont personally know every barista Ive ever met,
although Im certain theyre really really nice.

    I have a Gaggia, not a Breville.
I buy freshly roasted coffee, not pre-ground.
And its pronounced eSpresso, not eXpresso.

    I proudly support local roasters.
I believe in fair trade, not screw the coffee farmer,
    diversity, not assimilation,
and that tamper is an important tool in any coffee lovers tool box.
    Theres both robusta and arabica,
and it is Chai latte, not Chai tea latte !!!!

Coffee is the second most consumed beverage in the world,
is the first part of the day
and it helps over 1.6 Billion times a day!

    My name is Phil!!
And I am a Coffee Snob!!!

I had an in-depth conversation with the old-lady-barista at McD about this - she almost made me a cafe latte with chai syrup added because thats what a "chai latte" is... apparantly.

    Re: Anyone else???

given that the word "Chai" is just the foreign version of the engish word "Tea" asking for a "Chai tea latte" would be like asking for a "tea tea latte" ;D

Thats quite different. There you are talking about acronyms but when discussing chai, well that is a word in itself.

    Correction:
"Tea" is the foreign version of the original word "cha". ;)

Has anyone seen that McDonalds ad with their claim that they are trying to improve there coffee, and they encourage you to bring it back and they will make it again if your not happy?

Bearing this in mind, I wonder how many times they would remake the coffee? Perhaps on the 2nd/3rd attempt you could try giving them some freshly roasted beans? I never buy coffee there, and Im not that cruel anyway but I always thought it was a pointless attempt by Maccas to draw in more buyers.

To me, it seems a very good attempt to draw in the massive "coffee is cool because I sit in a cafe and drink drinks with italian names made on shiny equipment with overpriced accompaniments" market... who really know very little about what a fresh bean is, how to store it, roast it, or grind it and why it even matters.

    In My Humble Opinion ;)

Ive had McD espressos because the kids were happily in the playground and I needed the caffeine.

Ive never been desperate enough to try a Maccas coffee and I cant imagine that changing any time soon.

I cringe as I put my hand up, I have also sampled their evil brew to appease my 3 boys whilst they played and we waited for something McD disguise as edible food
