Stunning photography Adam. Definitely worth a vote.

Better prepare your spare room for all the CSers who feel inspired to visit Tassie and might expect some baksheesh for their votes ;)

    Stunning. Great work.

I think there is something wrong with my camera...it never looks like those when I press the button!

    Voted.

Very nice and surreal. Some of those look prehistoric in a way.
Do you use a tripod for all the shots?

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the feedback, and of course the votes. Not that I give myself much of a chance, Im sure there are others out there with a greater following than me, but at US$10 a photo to enter, I have to try...

You know, you can vote each day if you think of it. Perhaps a free downloadable desktop wallpaper for you to remind you? www.tasadam.com/wallpapers

Gary at Gala, yes, I carry a tripod and try to use it on every image. That and the delayed shutter release really helps get the sharpest, most precise image possible.

Amelie, keep an eye on my website, I have four exhibitions running at the moment, and a good chance that at least 3 will still be open next year. Feel free to contact me for further info.
    Cheers!

Do you use an SLR? because the mirror will introduce vibration into the image when it moves out of the way too.

Yes, both the Nikon D200 and my current D700 full frame cameras are DSLR, and I only use pro lenses.

The way I shoot, the camera has a setting that allows an amount of time (somewhere around 300 too 500 milliseconds I think) between mirror up, and shutter activation. This allows any minimal mirror vibration to settle prior to the image being recorded. I shoot with this setting with any critical shot, meaning its the normal way I shoot.
    Now, to go google "Rangefinder"...

Re: A blatant plug for votes

I recently purchased a Nikon D3100 with the 2 lens kit, we went on holidays last week and took about 600 photos.
Still getting to grips with it as its more complex than the canon powershot one we have.

I will have to read the manual and loom for a users guide as opposed to a manufacturers warranty to get the best out of it.

    The judges were bribed ;)

I think your contributions were far better than many of the finalists. I wasnt that enamoured with the Grand Prize selection and the I thought the winning entry in the photo section was rubbish. Your photos were better than finalist Alnis Stakle whose entries were also of the landscape type.

Photos of hamburgers???? I really couldnt see any merit in that.
