    CoffeeSnobs Podcasts - Any thoughts?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi

I just bought a new ipod and started checking out podcasts - there are a couple on coffee. I see coffeegeek does a one.

Anyone had any thoughts about putting up a regular coffeesnobs podcast? I think it would be really cool to listen to:
    - Reviews
    - Cupping Notes
    - Technique discussions

I see it is now even possible to download video podcasts. The possibilities are endless

I wish I knew enough about coffee to do say something meaningful - but am sure some of the sponsors or gurus have some ideas?

    Rgds

Im sure no one would want to listen to more than 5 minutes of me babble on, thats for sure.

Having said that, I dont think it would be difficult as a collective for us to come up with something.

The problem lies in production methinks.

    yep
you are probably right, but is pretty good exposure.
And if you only do it every couple months, may not be too bad.

Then again - we could all just read the forum :)
Obviously getting carried away with a new toy again

I have thought about doing one, but never really followed through on it. Given that AASCA is undergoing some big changes this year, it might be nice to do an AASCA podcast, that way wed be more likely to get to talk to pros as well as consumers.

    Cheers,

production these days is relatively simple. it seems we all have a pc and thats really all you need for production/post-production. The Problem maybe the site...the bandwidth is going to "cop a flogging" and ther emaybe a restriction on the account for bandwidth...Andy?

Yeah - the other option would be to get it listed through itunes. Then I assume it is on their server. I will try do some investigation over the wknd.

I know if you have a mac - production is pretty easy.

Podcasts were originally just audio. You now get them as video casts as well. The whole idea is to download and replicate to your ipod for listening or watching later wherever you are.

Dont see much value in an audio-only podcast where someone descibes what could easily be read. A video is worth a couple of thousand words.

yeah Robusto agreed...the trouble then is the quality you tube stuff is watchable but a lot of th eCoffee stuff on there is just so crappy you cant watch it. One that springs to mind is a guy showing a shot being pulled through a naked PF and its like in the dark and hes using a torch for lighting that has flat batteries {[-CRAZY-]} wed need some guidelines or posting policy for that. Ill try a youtube embed after breaky.
