    Waiting for Member 6666

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
It was but a few short months ago that we celebrated 5000 Coffee Snobs members
At the time of writing this post we are over 6000 members and growing fast

So I am watching & waiting for member 6666 wondering what name he/she picks
    Perhaps Coffee Devil [smiley=evil.gif]
    Perhaps Coffee Angel [smiley=engel017.gif]

Are you not a bit curious?

Do you actually get told what number youre going to be when you register?

I dont remember anything about any numbers....

Anyway, 4 6s doesnt count. We need to find member 666, and rename them appropriately...

I thought that it would not take as long as it did to reach Member# 6666

Anyway, 4 6s doesnt count. We need to find member 666, and rename them appropriately..

    Hi all

    This is even better.

The International Standards Organisation produce the ISO standards and guess what ISO 6666-1983 (i.e. published in 1983) is?

    DOCUMENT
BS 6379-3:1983* ISO 6666-1983 Sampling of coffee and coffee products. Specification for a coffee trier for sampling green coffee.

    Re: Waiting for Member 6666

Well member pcf1978 has stated on another post that he has been roasting coffee beans for 2 years

And as Mike found out that ISO 6666 & 6668 + others all relate to coffee beans and coffee roasting ;)

    ISO 6666
    http://www.iso.org/iso/iso_catalogue/catalogue_tc/catalogue_detail.htm?csnumber= 13095

Specification of an instrument suitable for taking samples through the sides of closed bags. It shall be made of a corrosion resistant metal. A figure show a model of a suitable instrument.

    ISO 6668
    http://www.iso.org/iso/iso_catalogue/catalogue_tc/catalogue_detail.htm?csnumber=44609

ISO 6668:2008 specifies a method for the roasting of green coffee, grinding the roasted coffee, and the preparation from the ground coffee of a beverage to be used in sensory analysis

So its only fitting that this applies to pcf1978

    Re: Waiting for Member 6666

.... I think maybe someone deleted their own account under [Profile], that would shuffle the numbers by 1

    so... if you saw:

    "We have 6666 registered members.
The newest member is coffee mum."

Then that was the correct answer...
...although pcf1978 could also be the 6666th member ;)

(in fact we have a lot of 6666 members because I removed about 200 dead accounts this year)

but to tell you the truth, Im up a bit late for Maths anyway * *... Doctor... my brain hurts *
Im with you CarrieK... Im with you.

    ;)

PS: we have added 1 new member an hour since then too.

    :o
