Any body see the new Star Wars cartoon The Clone Wars on Ten, saturdays at 12 Noon. I know theres a few fans on here Scoota,Sullo,Tk

It fits between the 2nd and 3rd movie of the new movies. I think its pretty good definately aimed at kids but can be enjoyed by us big kids. The animation is really good quality too.

    Put up your thoughts

    Andrew

    Sorry to move OT but
...how did you find the Oz Topgear Scoota? I know it isnt in the same league as the Brit show but after the first couple of shows it got better. I think they should ditch Charlie Cox though. THe always seems contrived. The other two guys are more natural specially Warren Brown. And they need to come up with an Ozzie Stig, not just a straight copy

I know what you mean about their "try-hardyness" , but I didnt think it sucked. The UK show has been going for so long & is so sucessful that I think our version may have stuck a little too tightly the original formula. I dont think that there is any point in just making a copy with Australian accents. Ill watch the next series and hopefully theyll have the confidence to relax into it a little more. :-?

I havent seen the movie but its already been on in the cinemas so I dont know how they link. I read part of an article which said this was also to show all the good anikin did during the clone wars before he turned.

I know what you mean I scan the tv guide every week to see what to record but otherwise i only really watch movies. I was lucky I found it the night before it was on.

Sorry guys I havent got back to this sooner! Busy week here!

Flynn...I thought that the Aussie version just does not have the depth of car knowledge that the British version has. I mean, they really did not go out of their way to find a Jeremy Clarkson here, the old bloke on the show doesnt really have any journalistic ability at all and certainly doesnt come close to Clarksons style of commentary. I agree, its contrived and try hard.

The short bloke is annoying...hes got an annoying voice but then so does the Hamster I guess!

And Warren is probably the best choice of the three, hes certainly stamping the show with his own kind of style and having watched most of the documentary he did about driving the old cars from Paris to Russia, hes got the right idea with commentary.

We need to see them start doing some more challenges, in the vein of the amphibious vehicles, rather than just pitting three new vehicles against each other. And they need to go and find a closed race track rather than the lame airport at Camden...I mean...its just NOT the same, no matter how hard they try!

What they could do to really stamp the show as Australian, is put a woman on the team too. More like Fifth Gear, I guess but theyve got a great female presenter on that show too.

I think that there is room for improvement and there have been good and funny moments on the show. And I know that when Top Gear did start, it was not all that great in its first season either! Anyway, if they go to a second season, Ill be watching.

Great critique SG. You have my nomination for the role of female presenter on TGA :) - a great idea btw.

Youre right about (short) Steve and the squeaky voice. I dont really find Hammonds voice that annoying & he has genuine wit to back it up.

Theyre better off getting one of the V8 Supercar guys to play the Stig but using an Aussie nickname.

I booked into studio audience for one of shows but had to cancel because its recorded on a Wednesday afternoon and couldnt make it. It was right after the first show, which was such a dud, and I imagine quite a few other people would have canceled as well.
