    Out of work again

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
The last project went base over apex and suddenly I went from being told my next contract should be in the bag to "sorry they ran out of money and theres nothing else to do at the moment, here, have two weeks notice".

The annoying thing is that the Project Manager said that a contributing factor to the overspend was the delay in some needed documentation.
Its annoying because Id mentioned it to my Team Leader and both Solution Designers several times.

So here I am out of work for the second time in about 30 years.

The good news is that my old boss is working on a plan to get me back as a full timer but he doesnt know yet when that will happen.

For now I need to find something to pay the bills.
I went to Centrelink today and it brought back all those bad old memories of the last time.
I came away with more forms than I started with and have to go back as soon as I can with them completed.

Some of you will know Im a Process Auditor.
    ISO 9000 sort of thing.
I also understand SDLC and project management theory.
For the last 12 months Ive been doing Test Analyst roles.
I have a banking background (20 years with 15 of Lending).
    IT work since 1997.

If anyone knows of any vacancies or has any ideas of where I could look, Ill be grateful for the feedback.

    Thanks
    TG

    Thanks all.

This time around Im getting more hits than the last time but financial matters complicate the issue.
This is not a good time for me to be between jobs.

    Hi TG
Is this like doing certification auditing for ISO9000 standards?
If so PM me and i will give you the details of a company who do 3rd party certification and use contractors, they may have a need, i am not sure, if nothing else and you fit their contractor profile, your name would be on their books.

    Ahh bugger.... >:(

What a kick in the guts mate. Hope something comes your way real quick TG; very short-sighted of your employer despite your best efforts I must say.

    All the best mate [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Im sorry to hear it, TG, its a lousy time of year to be out of work. Hopefully a fabulous job will come your way really soon.

In the meanwhile you could use the extra time to work on your post count - its looking a little low.... :D ;)

    Thanks Viv. *:P

This time around more people are helping; CSers included.

Havent found anything yet but Im hoping the return to Optus as a full timer doesnt take too long to eventuate.

In the meantime Im trying to find something to keep the wolf (bank) from the door.

Im going to see my old mates at Centrelink again tomorrow.
Hopefully all my paperwork is in order.
