It could be worse, it could have landed on your house.

We had a neighbours tree drop a branch which landed on our fence last night. Part of it still connected to the tree.

It has become a possum superhighway ;D

Cutting up some FREE firewood for next winter?

Chopping wood is great exercise ... just the other day my father and I were talking about one of his old boxing mates who, when visiting us in the UK many years ago, got up one morning and took it upon himself to chop and stack the load of firewood wed had delivered the day before. He would have been pushing 80 at the time and loved being active. Still got in the ring and worked the pads with his fighters for many years after that too.

and yeah, like lucinda said, at least it didnt fall on your house ...

    Re: Bugger again.

As a SES Volunteer I have seen many trees on houses and cars. There is nothing I like better than a challenge of getting a large tree of a house without causing anymore damage. This one time (at band camp) I had to cut my way into a job, do the tree on a house and then cut my way back out. Needless to say after 7 hours I was a little tired and we did not go back in to that area till the wind stopped. It is a scary feeling when cutting trees and you can hear them falling around you. That day the local council had 3 trucks damaged by falling trees in the same area!
Lots of residence in the area sending out distress calls but we were not prepared to put ourselves at risk any more so they had to wait till the wind went.

Had a tree fall down during the bad spring winds. I measure it out at 30 metres. Looked around for the stump or hole.... nothing!?! What the?
Oh... it was a branch that fell off a tree about 15 metres up.

Ah well, more fire wood! :)

Yep, I agree, the only good thing to come of it is a little extra firewood.
This is the second Ive lost this year, the backyard is starting to look a little bare. :(
