Miracle Fruit Tablets - Great fun!

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I just noticed that Zazz has some Miracle Fruit tablets today. *I had a play with these a while ago and they really are great fun.

You disolve half a table in your mouth and for the next hour (odd) anything bitter or sour becomes sweet. *A lemon tastes like an orange, grapefruit tastes like orange, vinegar tastes like fruit juice, over extracted coffee tastes like it has syrup in it (perfect for bad cafes).
    ;D

They are great fun and good value at $15 (about half normal price)

    Miracle Berry Fruit Tablets
Makes sour and bitter things taste sweet!

    http://www.zazz.com.au

Miracle Fruit is also called Miracle Berry, Synsepalum dulcificum, Richardella dulcifica, Frutto dei miracoli, Frutto Miracoloso, Fruta maravillosa, Fruto milagro, Fruta de milagro, Frutamilagrosa, Cudowny owoc, Sideroxylon dulcificum, Mirakelfrukten, Mirakelfrukt, Mirakelbær, Mirakelbaer, Wunderbeere and Mirakelbes

I should also mention that chewing the real fruit is meant to be even better, I know that the Coffeesnobs at Daleys Fruit Tree Nursery did have them if you want to try growing your own. *

I look forward to hearing if anyone has a play with confusing their senses.

OK. You got me. I just ordered.
Zazz and Catchoftheday are both dangerous websites for me.

I thought it was odd that if you wanted to order multiple boxes, the unit price increased. EG: 1 box was $9.95 plus postage. 2 boxes were $22.40 plus postage. And so on.

Lets all get together for a cupping session with tablets (or tables) in hand!

Its a blast. The looks on my kids faces when they licked a lemon was priceless.

If you try coffee you want it to be cool(ish) because higher temperature makes the effect of the fruit wear-off quicker.

Yeah, Zazz often do that. I think its because they load-up the postage as part of the markup on the first item.

    For sure.
I would love to have a dinner party where all the food was gross unless you had one of these prior. Hmmm I wonder which guest I wouldnt tell.
    ;D

I also tried some citric acid on my finger and it tasted like castor sugar. It was fun going through the pantry and fridge looking for weird things to try.

Oh... by the way, half a [s]table[/s] tablet is plenty for a play. A whole tablet wont make things sweeter it will just make the effect last longer so a packet of 10 goes a long way.

    ha!

Of course there is nothing in this for me except sharing the fun of exploring your palate and confusing your brain.

The last packet I bought came from overseas and cost something around $50 to land a packet. When I saw this on Zazz last night I knew who I needed to tell.... you lot!

Zazz is great fun. I dont buy very often but when I do its a perfect impulse purchase... cheap, useful or fun. A few weks ago I bought a couple of 4 port USB hubs that I needed, I think they were about $10 each which was far better than paying $15 and spending half a day driving around to get them.

The best Zazz thingy is when they have their "mystery bags"... $20 odd for a show bag of "stuff". One year I got a flashing USB powered santa among other things in the bag... tacky but fun just the same.

Ive had some great stuff from Zazz.
Ive done the $20 mystery box o cr@p for a bit of fun and there is certainly some rubbish in there, but thats the whole point.

My best get from them so far is a combined A/C and Car USB charger with 2 outlets. It is fantastic for travelling when you have a GPS device/phone/MP3 player/DS Lite/rechargeable camera all requiring charge at various times. $15 from memory and just fantastic.

Theres some on the bay of evil at present if Im not expaining myself well (or you want one).
    Item 120517767651 ($29 delivered)

I also got the USB Santa and Christmas tree from them 2 years back. my sister loves them.

I was in Penang in December, and went to the Tropical Fruit Farm there and got to try the actual berries. I had an acerola cherry which was nice but very sour, and after the miracle berry it tasted like a peach :)

I grew up with a tree in my backyard in Daintree, North Qld as a kid. These were always great with lemons and a great party trick!

Every few years someone would say that we should figure out how to turn it into a powder and make millions... ;D

Would recommend trying at least once in your life!

Have read of the Miraculin berry in the past Mal, sounds interesting.

Sadly have never seen em advertised, would certainly give em a try.
