    State of Origin

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    GDay all

This will probobly hold little interest to those outside NSW & QLD, but the biggest event in the Rugby League calender is upon us!

Im hoping the Blues can come up winners this year, but once again Qld are fielding a strong team!

For those who are interested, I reckon NSW have the size in the backs to win this year! *8-)

    Your thoughts?

    Cheers
    Andrew

    Re: State of Origin

    No competition.

What the Blues apparently lack is good communication between the halves - well the whole team really. The comical moment occurred late in the second half when Noddy was looking where the ball will go and not where it is - the pass landed at his feet.

Nearly all of NSWs tries were individual efforts (or luck in at least two cases). Nearly all of Qld tries were team efforts directed by the best halves combination around - and constantly catching Jarrod Hayne out of position (the great hope had a shocker). The Qld forwards did a good job of shutting the Blues forwards down when it should have been the other way around.

    Im quite the ANTI-maroonist.
    having said that,
I was neither expecting to see a win for the blues,
nor was surprised with the outcome.
just utterly shocked to think that we could field a team that played so badly at that level.
I mean comeon, we cant even field players that can pass to oneanother..

Which, I thought were two fundamental aspects of the game.
someone correct me if im wrong.

    Re: State of Origin

Until the selectors pick players for the positions they usually play, NSW is doomed to keep losing.

You dont see the Socceroos picking the best 11 goalkeepers in Australia to form a team for the World Cup.

The best suggestion Ive heard since the game is to select new selectors.

I agree, but I think it is more than that. Yes, Qld is fielding a team of players playing in their usual positions (although Boyd currently plays fullback for the Dragons), they are a much more integrated side and have better communication - and were more passionate.

Most of the NSW tries were opportunistic - even lucky.

    Re: State of Origin

Better integration comes from playing in position.

If you are out of position and look to your usual left side to find no one is there because you arent where you normally are, then what hope.

Example: Put a left winger on the right wing. He turns to his right to call for the ball and is surprised to see the teams not there.

    Schssssss

Thats teh Quality and process auditing coming to teh surface; along with root cause analysis..

A: Ya looking for a job as a Coach or a Selector ?

    AND /or

B: Just leave it be... They are paid mega bucks and know better.. ( On field or off field the performance/behaviour of some should never be validated)

Qld is happy to have a bit of slap and tickle with a sparing partner..

Better than going head to had with a real team, that way injuries are not as bad for teh real games that follow ;)

Good point. Bellamy was the one responsible for introducing wrestling skills into NRL games. Imagine what the Blues could do with a few karate skills.

Agreed, Qld have a better side atm but more importantly they have the best halves. Qld are now doing to us what we did to them while we had Joey and Daley/Barret :( Swap Thurstom and Lockyer for Noddy and Lyons and suddenly NSW are a vastly better side ::)

The Blues have no option but to put it all on the line at Suncorp.

Hopefully this time, Bellamy will play the team in the positions that they know & play in each week!
