If this is a serious job--then go for it TG! Those brands need all the help they can get!

I must say though, I remain unconvinced that Sara Lee (International?) has the possibility to treat roasted coffee as a fresh food. Even so, prompt freezing (a la the cheesecakes) may just be able to improve the usual stale supermarket stuff.

I look forward to hearing more.

    Yes bf,

Same "job", cross posted and it seems no reply to those who did express interest.

Rather than have multiple pretty much identical threads, I have merged the two threads ::)

For those wondering, I didnt get the job.

Feed back was that although I ticked all the original boxes they changed the criteria and are now looking for someone with a bit more barista and roasting experience than I have.

Sounds like now they want someone like Hazel, Chris or Dennis.

Sorry to hear that TG... :(

I suspect they may find that they need to change the criteria to suit the best applicant. Having done enough workin for da man, no way would a multinational get me at any price. I reckon Den may have similar sentiments. ::)

And from me too TG. It must be hard to be philosophical about it in your position.

Sorry to hear it unless, as Chris and Den suggests, it was a reprieve.

Pity youre in Sydney. I have a friend in Melbourne who is looking for someone to look after his shop 5 days a week while he does machine servicing and repairs.

The business is, advising on, and selling a wide range of coffee machines, grinders, beans and everything else to do with coffee.

My friend is busier than a one legged man at an arse kicking competition but cant find anyone willing and able.

    Good luck anyway.

Re: The perfect job for the coffee snob!! Recruiting a Coffee Taster & Trainer!

    Thanks everyone.

    Philosophical?

As I told them, it could have been a new direction for me.
After the last direction change was thrust upon me I was willing to see where this one led.
At this point in time it obviously wasnt meant to be.

Ive got two other propositions going at the moment.
Both contracts unfortunately but hopefully one of them will come through, which will help short term and give me time to find something permanent.
