Thank you Den for your passion, honesty and humour.

Thank you also for your friendship which I value hugely.

Whilst things can sometimes seem nuts, your family and those close to you are the most important part of life. Do take time to rest and gather energy for the next phase and please stay close to us at CS. You have more friends here than you may ever know. No doubt that you will continue to be fuelled in part by defibrillator blend!

Good luck mate and we will catch up soon.

BTW- To whoever now has possession of the one and only vial of Cuppacoffee instant coffee, you have a collectors item!* ;D

I was shocked to hear this sad news and assume the very tough decision wasnt taken lightly. Its a big loss to the industry and CoffeeSnobs everywhere. We need more boutique roasters with the passion of Dennis, not less of em.

Im sure we all wish Dennis and his family all the best in whatever direction life leads them in future and hope this isnt goodbye as much as itís letís do this again sometime later.

    Gday Dennis
I am sorry to hear you will be closing the shop. It has been great right from the first post to the coffee crawl we went on together years ago to seeing the shop and website etc etc.

I wish you and the fam all the best and as Andy said I hope to see you on here every now and then. You will be missed.

Best of luck with the change in direction. I am not far off a change in occupation (10 months). It is fun planning the future but also unsettling not knowing if you will enjoy the change. :-/

    Re: cuppacoffee - closing

Since closing the business Ive had a number of people contact me with expressions of concern, which prompted this message.

Firstly...Im fine - I havent fallen ill or come to any harm, but thanks to everyone Ive spoken with recently.

Before deciding to close the shop I was approached by a coffee franchise to provide some consultancy work, which I did. As a result, Ive been asked to work with them on a full time basis. The role has been created for me, and for now, Im involved with identifying suitable locations for our new corporate headquarters as well as sourcing coffee roasting equipment.

The ability to use state of the art equipment and roast coffee for a Company that is focused on continuous improvement is very exciting. It will be a few months before everything is up and running, though when it is, Ill provide another update.

    Its my dream job!

I wish you all well and hope you will remain in touch. I do intend to continue contributing as best I can on the forum.

    Kind regards
    Dennis

    Gees Den

You could have mentioned at the start that you were quitting cuppacoffee for the right reasons. Six weeks is a long time before coming clean.

    Re: cuppacoffee - closing

My apologies. I misunderstood your post and inferred you closed cuppacoffee because you were offered the new job. It wasnt clear that the consultancy offer was made recently.

    Congratulations. Sounds big and exciting.
