    Question for the tech savvy

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I've just had Foxtel IQ-HD connected and I thought I'd connect the box to my AV receiver. My receiver is a few years old and doesn't have HDMI input. So I connected it with RCA leads and it seemed to work; until I realised the picture and sound are out of sync. Am I missing something in the connection or do I need to buy a receiver with HDMI?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi ajayro57

All the Fox units I know (set up too many friends ones over the years) have copy protection methods which play up unless you go "video direct" into the TV and "audio direct" into your theatre setup. PITA. The first thing you lose is the sync. Even going direct into both I have had to tinker delays sometimes.

If I ever went that way, I suspect I would be looking for hacks / cracks on the basis that they are not fit for purpose as delivered. Especially after a friends HD unit deleted the movies he ordered after 48 hours before he had a chance to view them. Also incredibly arrogant and rude IMO.

Thanks. Yes, you can only hire a movie for 48 hrs.
